WORLD BIOFUEL DAY

World biofuels day is observed on 10th August to honour the inventor of the diesel engine. The day is celebrated as biofuels for a better environment.

Environment and Ecology mean the interaction between all the components such as physical, chemical, and biological and ecology means how all these components work together in the environment. World biofuels day is observed on August 10th for biofuels for a better environment. The largest producer of biofuels is the United States around the world. World biofuels day is celebrated to create awareness of the importance of non-fossil fuel amongst the people. Methanol (CH3OH) is considered a non-fossil fuel under “Energy policy Act 1992”.

What is biofuel day?

World biofuels day is celebrated on August 10 to create awareness of the non-fossil fuel against the conventional fossil fuel among the people for a better environment. The United States of America is the major producer of biofuels in the world. Methanol is considered a biofuels; it has particles that also consist of ethanol. Biofuels is produced from sugar cane, palm oil, oilseed rape, wood, and so on. Biofuels help the Environment and Ecology to improve by producing less carbon dioxide in the environment.

Importance of biofuels day

World Biofuels day is observed on 10th August to create awareness of the use of non-fossil fuel against conventional fossil fuel for a better environment. Biofuels are made from plants such as sugar cane, palm oil, wood and so on which are environmentally friendly. Biofuel is considered renewable energy, unlike conventional fossil fuel which creates pollution in the air.

Advantages of Biofuels

  • Biofuels is made of renewable energy

  • Biofuels is more cleaner fuel that produces less emission which makes biofuels cheaper than other oils

  • Biofuels increase the durability of the vehicle’s engine when used as combustible fuel.

  • Biofuels are made from different kinds of waste of crops, by-products, plant trees, and so on.

  • Biofuels is from renewable sources and it will not run out of stock as fossil fuel in the future

  • Biofuels produce fewer greenhouse gases as compared to fossil fuels in the atmosphere.

Impact of biofuels on the Environment

Each year Biofuels day is celebrated to spread awareness in the world to make the environment less harmful. Biofuels are less harmful than fossil fuels such as natural gas, petroleum, and so on. Fossil fuel releases more carbon monoxide which harms the environment very badly. Biofuels are made from renewable sources and it makes less greenhouse gas than fossil fuel. Biofuels reduce 20 to 60 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in the environment, unlike fossil fuel.

Types of biofuels

  • Wood: Wood produces biomass that can be burned to produce fire using different kinds of tree parts around the globe.

  • Biogas: The biogas is the gaseous form of biogas. Biogas is composed of methane gas which is produced from processed biogas and stored in cylinders for household use around the world.

  • Biodiesel: This biofuels is stored in the form of liquid. It is made from animal fat and plant oils which have high energy content. Biodiesel is also made from alcohol.

  • Ethanol: Ethanol is mainly made from sugar plants. It is made from high carbon content biomass. Ethanol is an alcohol and it is stored in the form of liquid.

  • Methanol: Methanol is also a biofuels that is stored in the form of liquid to be used in the high-powered engine. Methanol is mostly used in racing cars around the world.

  • Butanol: Butonal is another kind of biofuels that is produced from the process of fermentation. Butanol has higher energy per unit than ethanol and producing it is very difficult.

Conclusion

Biofuels are becoming more important in today’s generations. 10th August is celebrated as World Biofuels Day to make a better biofuels environment around the world. Fossil fuels such as natural gas, petroleum, diesel, and so on are extracted which are non-renewable and harmful to the environment and release poisonous gas in the air. Biofuels are made from natural renewable resources which are mostly trees and animals. Tree woods, oils, and sugar cane are the main source of biofuels. Animal fats are the main source of biofuels energy. Biofuels increase the engine’s durability and increase less harmful gas than fossil fuel in the air. Biofuels are costly as fossil fuel but it will become cheaper when more and more people use it in the future. The United States of America is the largest producer of biofuels energy around the world. Many countries around the world are adopting biofuels energy to reduce global warming in the environment.
