Pesticides and Insecticides

Pesticides and insecticides and their uses are the main focal point of the study. The study is about the effect of these on the environment and ecology

The interaction and contamination between biological, chemical and physical components are termed the environment. The environment is related to all biotic and abiotic components of the world and their effect on one another. The close relationship between the environment and its living and nonliving organisms is the study of ecology. Ecology has a very close relationship with the environment as ecology is the study of work interaction between the environmental aspects. Adaptation, biodiversity and life process are concierge in the study of ecology. The other two major aspects are pesticide and insecticide in the present study. These two components have been used by humans for a very long time which has a drastic effect on the environment as well as on the ecology.

Definition of Environment and Ecology

Environment and ecology are the two major components of the world that are composing the relationship between the biotic and biotic components of nature.

The environment is known as the condition, objects or circumstances by which the earth is surrounded. The environment is subsided as the mixed concept where chemical, physical and biological factors such as soil, climate and living organisms are situated under an ecological community.

The environment is considered as the community where living and nonliving organisms can determine their form and way of survival. The term Ecology is defined by the scientist Ernst Haeckel who created the concept that it is the relationship between the environment and organisms. Ecology is the concept that can be used as the major field of the relationship building of the environment and its components such as chemical, physical and biological components. Environment and ecology have a close relationship to each other and can be the major part of environmental studies. There are three types of ecology such as population ecology, landscape ecology and behavioural ecology. In population ecology, the relationship between the population and the environment has been studied. In landscape ecology, the relationship and interaction between lans]dams and the environment has been studied. In behavioural ecology, the behaviour of living organisms and their effect on the environment has been studied.

Types of  Pesticides and Insecticides

Pesticides and insecticides have been used in the agricultural fields for a long decade to per cent of crops from pests. Pesticides are considered as the component substances that have been used to destroy, repel, mitigate or prevent any type of pest. It is also considered as the chemical and biofuel component that helps to kill pests in the agricultural field. Pesticide is used as the mixture of compounds or substances which has the intention to defoliant, regulate and desiccant plants. There are various pesticides such as “fungicides, herbicides, bactericides, larvicides, rodenticides and insecticides”. Fungicides are used to kill fungus; herbicides are used to kill other plants; rodenticides are used to kill rodents such as mice, rats.  Bactericides are used to kill bacteria in the agricultural files; Larvicides are used to kill larva in the crops.

Various examples of chemical synthetic pesticides are “glyphosate, Acephate, Deet, Propoxur, Metaldehyde, Boric Acid, Diazinon, Dursban, DDT, Malathion and many more”. Insecticides are considered a type of pesticides that are used to prevent insects from eating crops. Insecticides are considered as the chemical substances that are used to kill, prevent insects from doing distracting beginners in the agricultural field. There are various types of insecticides are present such as Organic insecticides, Inorganic insecticides, Synthetic insecticides and Miscellaneous compounds. Various examples of insecticides are “Aldrin, Chlordane, Chlordecone, DDT, Dieldrin, Endosulfan, BHC, Endrin, Heptachlor and many more”. Stomach poisons are most effective for the insects like grasshoppers, beetles, caterpillars who are eating leaves. The stomach poisons are including arsenicals such as lead arsenate, calcium arsenate, copper acetoarsenite. Fluoride compounds are slowly used as stomach poisons such as cryolite and sodium fluoride.

Difference between insecticide and pesticide

Pesticides is a broader term that is used to protect crops from insects, bacteria, fungus, larvas, and many other pests. The insecticide is a part of pesticides that are used to protect harvest only from insects. Pesticides can kill all pests such as plants, vertebrates and anthropods whereas insecticides can have only kill insects. Three major methods are used to classify pesticides are target organism, physical nature and chemical composition. Insecticides are only used chemical composition for classification.

Effect of the use of insecticide and pesticide

Pesticides and insecticides are considered as the chemical components which have been used to grow healthy crops in the agricultural field. Rapid use of pesticides has created major severe health hazards which are also considered acute effects. Pesticides can cause various diseases that can occur after exposure to pesticides for months to years. Acute health effects that are caused by using pesticide care: rashes, blisters, stinging eyes, blindness, nausea, dizziness, diarrhoea and death. Insecticides can be asked to water bodies by rain and can cause severe health effects.  It can be the major cause of cancer and reproductive harm to humans.

Conclusion

The study is the main focal point of the environmental ecology and its concept to understand its various relationship building. The concept of pesticides and insecticides and their relationship has been discussed in the present study. The effect of the excessive use of pesticides and insecticides are discussed in the present study. The major differences between them are discussed in the present study.
