MHT CET Eligibility Criteria PG
MHT CET, also known as Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test is a state-level Post Graduation exam that is held by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai. By qualifying for the MHT CET exam, candidates can get admitted to any of the institutions that are affiliated with the State University of Maharashtra. Candidates can take admission in Post Graduation courses such as M.E, M.Tech, and Pharma D.
In order to appear for the MHT CET PG exam, candidates must apply before the last date of application and make sure they fulfil all the conditions included in the eligibility criteria for the exam.

1. Master of Engineering and Technology (Integrated) [ 5 Years duration ]
Candidates who want to apply for the Master of Engineering and Technology need to fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the authoritative body. The duration of the course is five years. The eligibility criteria for the exam is based on several factors such as Nationality, academic qualifications, etc.
Given below are the details regarding the eligibility criteria of the Master of Engineering and Technology (Integrated):
A. Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidature Candidates
- Candidates must be an Indian
- Candidates must have cleared HSC or equivalent exam with mandatory subjects such as Physics and Mathematics along with an optional subject such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational subject, Biology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, Agriculture, Business Studies, Entrepreneurship, or Electronics. The candidate must have acquired a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks if the candidate belongs to Backward Class Categories, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability category who belong to Maharashtra State) in the specified above subjects taken together and must obtain non-zero marks in JEE (Main) B.E/B.Tech or the participant must have qualified in every subject of CET and should acquire non-zero scores in MHT CET 2021 that is conducted by the authority. However, preference will be given to the participants who obtain non-zero positive scores in JEE Main B.E/B.Tech over the candidates who acquired non-zero scores in MHT CET 2021, or
- Passed a minimum three-year diploma in engineering and technology with at least 45 percent (at least 40 percent for Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disabilities candidates from Maharashtra State)
B. NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries and Foreign National Candidature Candidates
- The candidate must have passed the HSC or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, as well as one of the following: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, Electronics, or Entrepreneurship, with a combined score of at least 45 percent in the above subjects
- Any additional criterion proclaimed by the relevant agency as prescribed by the Act from time to time
2. First Year – Pharm D
The exam for the post-graduation exam of Pharmacy Or Pharm D can be qualified by candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria. The duration of the programme is 6 years and the eligibility criteria demand a few conditions to be fulfilled by students. The conditions are given below-
A. Maharashtra State Candidature
- Candidates must be an Indian citizen
- He or she must have passed the HSC or equivalent exam with compulsory subjects such as Physics and Chemistry along with the optional subjects of mathematics for biology, or candidates must have passed diploma courses in pharmacy from institutions that are affiliated with the state board and have been approved by the relevant Central authority as well as State Government
- Candidate must have obtained at least 50% marks (or 45% in case of backward class, economically weaker section, and the person with a disability who belong from Maharashtra state) in the above subjects taken together,
- Participants must have appeared in the subjects and acquired a non-zero score in the MHT CET 2021
B. All India Candidature Candidates
- The candidate must be an Indian national
- A minimum of 50% marks (or 45% marks for backward class categories or persons with disability or economically weaker sections students who belong to Maharashtra) is required for subjects taken altogether
- Students should have passed high school or equivalent level of the exam with subjects such as Physics and Chemistry as their mandatory subjects along with mathematics or biology as an extra, or a diploma course in pharmacy from any institute that is affiliated to the state board and is approved by the relevant authority along with the state government is applicable
- Should have received a non-zero positive score in NEET or have appeared in all subjects in MHT-CET 2021 and received a non-zero score in MHT-CET 2021. Candidates who received non-zero positive marks in NEET will be given preference over those who received a non-zero score in MHT-CET 2021
C. NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National-
- The candidate must have passed the HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as obligatory courses, as well as one of Mathematics or Biology, and must have received at least 50% in all of the above subjects combined
- Passed a Diploma Course in Pharmacy from an institute associated with the State Board and approved by the authorised central authority and the State Government, receiving at least a 50% grade;
- Any other condition notified by the authorised person as stated by the Act from time to time
