COMPETITION, CONFLICT, COOPERATION AND COHESION

The term “competition, conflict, cooperation and cohesion” defines the importance and functions of an individual towards achieving his stipulated goals and ensuring sustainability while interacting with others.

Introduction

Competition is the most important form of struggle in Indian society. Different specialists and socialists define competition in many ways. However, the most simplified explanation of competition is in the form of interaction.  Conflict arises when an individual develops different values, perspectives, opinions, needs and interests that go against another one in the middle way of life. Cooperation is a form of collaboration towards obtaining the benefits and advantages based on the same ground and showing mutual interest. Cohesion demonstrates the togetherness towards attaining the same goal or interest. “Competition, conflict, cooperation and cohesion” are part of the social procedure. These are some systematic approaches that ensure a person’s survivability. 

Structural description

Competition, conflict, cooperation and cohesion in the aspect of India 

The responsibility of the competition of the commission (CCI) of India is to eliminate the detrimental effects of competition and ensure a sustainable and healthy competitive approach to protect the interest of the trade market of Indian citizens. Furthermore, the responsibility of this commission is to receive competition-related issues and monitor the trade market through creating public awareness and training programs. 

Competition commission of India

The functionality of this commission ‘Competition commission of India’ entails the enhancement of customer welfare through the establishment of sustainable healthy competition. The role of this organisation is to prescribe any form of anti-competitive compliance or prevalence of the widespread position of the enterprises that might be hurting the rules of competition. 

CCI regulates anti-competitive functionalities that eventually categorised into three broad provisional acts such as 

  • Inhibition of anti-competitive compliance between two companies. 
  • Regulate combination 
  • Inhibit misuse of dominance

The competition act was established in 2002 with the hope of achieving some objectives such as :

  • Free trading system for the participants. 
  • Converting the business sector is advantageous for the government of India. 
  • Consolidated amelioration of the economic status of India 
  • Implementing an effective strategic approach to enhance the efficient usability of the monetary assets. 

The benefit of this act associated with ‘Competition commission of India’ is that it covers all sectors including the private, public and so on. Furthermore, this legislative policy ensures consumer’s protection to a large extent. 

Power conflict and group behaviour 

Power conflict is associated with conflict and conflict in power generates an idea regarding the ability of an individual or group behaviour to do as per his or their wish even standing against others. Usually, a social psychologist studies power conflict and group behaviour. Conflict affects the organisation behaviour however, it also found from many studies that conflict does not end up dragging the negative result with an organisation. It is totally up to an individual who can deal with the power conflict can bring some positive impact to the organisation. For example in an organisation managers play a significant role to manage conflict among subordinates and fellow workers. In the case of a developing country like India conflict with an organisation helps to reconcile the bonding and enhance the productivity of the employees. 

Manufacturing companies have clear concepts on consumers’ needs and once the conflict is resolved a negotiation process increases the proficiency of the sales manager to meet the target. There is no doubt excessive controlling the power and creating a negative impact on the behavioural approach of employees of an organisation. Conflict, power and behaviour are interconnected and each of them regulates and creates an impact on others. Within an organisation, a training program needs to be conducted to habituate higher authorities to deal with conflict strategically to enhance power and establish desirable outcomes to be true. 

Group cohesiveness on organisational behaviour

In an organisation group cohesiveness means to some extent sticking together and being committed to each other for achieving greater targets. Cohesiveness entails an affinity song for the group members that eventually let them consider themselves as a single unit rather than an individual. Group cohesiveness requires better understanding among the group members where they can share a similar mission and vision for the betterment of the organisation. Furthermore, this also needs more participants for a larger amount of success, productivity and conformity. This only can be achieved through regular healthy communication and ensuring the satisfaction of the members. 

Cohesiveness has a great impact on organisational behaviour because it enhances sharing ideas, concepts and reduces corporate politics. Group cohesiveness has a high acceptance value and creates a positive impact on organisational behaviour. Group cohesiveness is also demonstrated as a consequence and more participation enhances more success rate. Cohesiveness has a positive impact on the creation of a positive workforce. However, there are some negative outcomes also associated with group cohesiveness. Nevertheless, positivity is more than negative attributes and most importantly this enables an individual to be more accountable and liable on behalf of the group and organisation. 

Conclusion

From the above discussion, it is understood that competition, conflict, cooperation and cohesion are important features of social life. Competition is the basic struggling attribute of social life. In India, the government created a law to perform a fair and healthy competitive race among the trade marketers and ensure the protection of the consumers to some large extent. Furthermore, this statement also illustrated the power conflict and organisational behavioural impact. From this section, it is understood the organisation’s manager must learn to get accustomed to dealing with the conflict within an organisation. Finally, large scale of benefits encountered while demonstrating the group cohesiveness within an organisation.  Group cohesiveness enhances employees’ efficiency and productivity through positive cohesiveness among the team members.
