However, there are some cases where people have different types of nightmares or unusual dreams which affect their sleeping process and cause insomnia. According to the research process, it came to know that, in the dreaming phase one has proper brain activity which includes the forebrain and midbrain.  However, dreaming while sleeping is a healthy habit that helps to relax the mind enhances the creativity of a person along with problem-solving attitudes.

What is the difference between dreams and sleep?

In the case of dreams and sleep processes, there are some differentiation has been identified. Though they are connected processes there are some differences such as –

  1. One should have deep sleep to have a dreaming phase but one can have sleep without having any kind of dreaming.
  2. The dreaming phase used brain activity whereas the sleep phase without drawing is mostly restful for a person as it does not include brain function.
  3. The nightmare dreams can affect the sleeping phase of a normal person but the sleeping phase does not make any negative results on the dreaming phase.
  4. There is differentiation in the sleeping process but there is no differentiation in the dreaming phase of a person.

These are some of the common differentiation that helps an individual to get knowledge about both processes.

What are the functions of these dreams and sleep?

Dreaming and the REM sleeping process are controlled by the human brain simultaneously and controlled by different brain mechanisms. The function of proper sleep helps to improve creativity, help to increase concentration, and help to improve the decision-making process of an individual. Moreover, it also improves the learning process of an individual. On the other hand, the dreaming phase helps to improve the facilitation of memory storage, catecholamine restoration, and the reverse learning process. These are some of the common functions of dream and sleeping that have been identified through several tests and analysis processes. The quality of the dreaming and sleeping process affects the brain activity of a person and they can improve their performance in their daily life.

What is the importance of both of these processes?

Sleep and dream are interconnected matters for every human being and as a scientific demonstration; it is an activation synthetic process that hypothetical is suggested to the brainstem related to different attractive and continuous movements through the eye during the sleeping time. It enhances the limbic system, which is an Emotional Motor System (EMS) that enhances the stimulation of the brain and makes rapid movement during sleeping time. The dreaming process is a most real and on-base system for the human being and sometimes it is condition queenly ignored by the person but it needs proper look and it also makes a rationale for the contradictory physiological development of the target person.

Why do People Dream?

The dreaming process happens due to the random and continuous movement of the eye during sleeping time and it is done in a periodical system during the nighttime. On the other hand, another prime reason for dreaming is a generation of brain stem-related activation and rhythmic breakdown in the sleeping time that for forebrain generated dreams. In the time of dreaming, key emotional factors and different types of memory that are related to the brain structure are enhanced and reactivated during sleeping time. Alongside upsetting memories is a safe process for the brain system and it occurs free chemical reactivation to reduce the stress and a calm environment in the human body system.

What are most dreams about?

According to the research process, it depicts that, most people have dreams about negative events rather than positive events. People usually dream about those incidents that have been done recently or they thought a lot about that. According to research, most people have dreams about being attacked, killed, or falling. This process acts as a nightmare and it affects the sleeping phase. On the other hand, scientists are researching the brain function during this process which is possibly responsible for having different kinds of dreaming while sleeping.
