SIMPLE COMPOUND COMPLEX SENTENCES

The three main types of sentences are Simple, Compound, and Complex sentences. All these sentences have different writing styles. Sentence construction includes the systematic presentation of thoughts and information. Thus, the uses of different kinds of sentence construction style for expressing different factors are done with the help of these sentence styles.

The sentence construction process is based on the rules and regulations of simple, compound, and complex sentences. In finance, these rules are followed up effectively according to the financial transactions that occur during the business process. Simple sentences consist of only one sentence. A compound sentence consists of two different simple sentences. On the contrary, a complex sentence consists of one or more dependent clauses, along with one primary clause. Sentence construction requires understanding the difference between subject and predicate. Therefore, the follow up of rules and regulations for the use of conjunction by which the subject and predicate are combined together are needed to be understood vividly.

Meaning of sentence

The use of different sets of words consisting of a subject and predicate that tends to make a sense is called a sense. It consists of the use of a group of words to say or write some opinion, fact, ask a question, and for many more perspectives.

Meaning of clauses

In simple words, it can be said that the sentences are created along with the use of clauses. Clauses act as a frame or structure for building up sentences.

Introduction to Simple Sentence

Sentences that consist of only a particular subject and a predicate are called simple sentences. The clause that a simple sentence consists of is only one independent clause.

Examples of Simple Sentence

  • Mohit loves to sing.

  • Riya brought a book.

  • Dip is an intelligent boy.

Properties of simple sentences

  • These consist of only an independent clause.

  • It can have simple or compound predicates and also simple or compound predicates.

  • These kinds of sentences can be short and also long as well.

Introduction to Compound Sentence

Sentences that consist of more than one independent clause along with the use of coordinator are called compound sentences. The most common coordinators that are used for connecting the sentences are “and” and “but’’, “for’’. “Nor”, “yet”, “so”. The connection of two different independent clauses occurs in this kind of sentence.

Example of Compound Sentence

  • Mona is a dentist and her sister is a lawyer.

  • The girl entered the room and announced the annual picnic.

  • She worked hard but failed in the volleyball match.

Properties of Compound sentences

  • This kind of sentence acts as a set of twin sentences.

  • Both the sentences which are conjoined have a particular subject and also at the same time a particular verb is used for making the sentence that makes complete sense.

  • It helps in the expression of complicated or longer thoughts.

Definition Of complex sentence

This kind of sentence consists of more than one clause. One independent clause and one dependent clause is the minimum quantity that is used in this kind of sentence construction procedure. The most common junctions to connect the clauses are- “because’’, “until “or ‘’since’’.

Examples of Complex sentence

  • Because the food was too cold, I heated it on the gas stove.

  • Although my friends forced me, I chose not to go to the college function.

  • I learned mathematics perfectly because I practiced it regularly.

Properties and classification of Complex Sentences

  • This kind of sentence has one dependent clause and also an independent clause.

  • A single dependent clause is not enough to stand alone even if the verbs and subjects consist of it.  Therefore, it needs conjunctions.

  • Use of comma is splitting the clause.

Properties of Conjunctions

  • It acts as a connector among the two or more sentences.

  • It acts as a facilitation of the addition of verbs in the sentence construction procedure.

  • The entire focus of the sentences is based on the variation of the conjunctions that are used in the sentence.

  • Conjunctions are quite similar to the use of prepositions in the sentence construction procedure.

  • Starting a new sentence within a sentence requires the use of conjunction to link them with one another.

Starting a sentence with the use of “because”, ” but” or “And”

It can be said that these kinds of words are only used for fact or coordinating the sentences. The use of these words is for joining the sentences and as a result, it is needed to be used only after one particular subject to join it with a predicate. However, it can be said that starting a sentence with the use of because can be done, only when the sentence is complete and making sense.

Conclusion

Sentence construction includes providing a view of the thoughts that one individual has. A sentence consists of clauses, subject, and predicate by which the thoughts are aligned into an explanation. There are three different kinds of sentences used by which the explanation of thoughts and facts are made. Simple sentences, compound sentences, and complex sentences are the method by which the construction of thoughts is done. Each and every sentence has a clause and subject. The subject and predicate are conjoined with the use of different conjunctions. This process is done in the case of compound and complex sentences. Complex sentences are the longest sentences as compared to simple and compound sentences. This is because several ideas are explained with the use of complex sentences.
