GEOGRAPHY OF INDIA

The Indian geography is very diverse, with many mountains, snow-capped hills, plateaus, plains, lakes, rivers, deserts, plains, islands, oceans, and many more.

India is a very diverse country, situated in the Asian continent. In the southern part of the Asian continent, India is situated.  India is a socialist, secular, democratic, and republican country. In this country, there are so many types of people with different  languages, color, culture, and religions.  The capital of India is New Delhi. Nearly 135 crores people live in India. So many famous rivers, hills, monuments, and mountains are  in India. 

Geography of India

The  geography of India deals with all types of  cultures, landscapes, mountains, rivers, oceans, ranges, geographical positions, and neighboring countries. India is spread over 1269345 square miles or 3287590 square kilometers. In the south Asian continent, and above the equator, India is situated with 3 main water bodies, and with seven countries, and sharing borders with 6 countries. Such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, China, Pakistan, Myanmar. Sri Lanka shares only a water border that is connected by the Ram Setu. While Afghanistan, Maldives are also neighboring countries of India. India consists of 28 states and 8 union territories. Some of them are west Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and so on. Some union territories are Andaman Nicobar Islands, Dadra, Nagar haveli and daman diu, and so on. Many famous hills are present in India. Such as The Himalayan Hills, Shivalik hills, Annamalai Hills, Nilgiri hills, and many more. The three main water bodies that are connected to India are The Indian Ocean, The Bay of Bengal, and the Arabian Sea. Many types of transport have been done using these water bodies. The Andaman Nicobar island is a very important island for India, which is located in the eastern part of India, in the Bay of Bengal. 

Geographical representation

The total land of India is spread over 3287590 square kilometers. The total land border is 15,106 km, and the total coastal border is 7516.6 kilometers. In the northern hemisphere of the earth, India is located in between latitudes of 8 degrees 4 minutes north and 37 degrees 6 minutes north, and between longitudes of 68 degrees 7 minutes east and 97 degrees 25 minutes east. India is mainly connected with some countries called neighboring countries. India is importing and exporting many items through these countries and with a land route or in air route. Many businesses have been done by these connected neighboring countries by India. From the perspective of landscapes, India has so many long rivers, lakes, mountains, hills, plains, deserts, and many more. The main rivers of India are The Ganga, Yamuna, Brahmaputra, and many more. These rivers are important for the industries which are situated beside the rivers for transport. The rivers are also useful for developing some huge water electric resources. Using some advanced technology, India is growing very fast day by day. Nowadays, solar energy is a very useful energy resource in India. There are so many famous monuments which attract many people or tourists in India. There are so many famous temples in India, which have been very famous for many decades. Based on these monuments, travel places in India are very attractive places for foreigners. Many ice-covered places like Kashmir, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Darjeeling area are famous for travel and tourism. There are also some famous beaches in India. Which are located beside the Bay of Bengal, The Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean. 

Regional Geography

The regional geography of India consists of all the regions that are placed in India. Many famous mountains that attract so many tourists are placed in India. In India, there are a total of 23 different languages spoken by the people. Based on the states, their languages are different. Such as, in West Bengal Bengali language, is spoken by the people of West Bengal, the Bhojpuri language is spoken by the people of Bihar. Hindi is spoken almost all over India. The Indian region is very famous for its different landscapes and for its different people. In India there are several forests and based on many climates India is very attractive for tourists. Based on different climates, there are so many different crops planted. Many types of vegetables, fruits, and so many crops are famous in India. All these types of crops and fruits which are available in India are exported to western countries, and some materials that are not available in India, are imported to India from different countries through sea, land, or by air. These made India very beautiful and interesting for people from other countries.

Conclusion 

All the above discussion about India clearly depicts that India is very attractive for tourists, interesting regarding foods, beautiful regarding its culture, and many more. Some special monuments that made India famous were built many decades ago. The tourists’ places are attractive and also an income source for the Indian government. So many industries, organizations have started their business, opens their branches in India. All these cultures of India, places of India, hills, landscapes, and many more of India made it very interesting and made me proud among other countries.
