Title Bar in computer
Title Bar in the computer is defined as a horizontal bar. This horizontal bar is located at the topmost part of a window within GUI. It shows the software title that is currently running. Further, it also shows the file or document or some other text that can help in identifying contents that are currently running in the windows. For instance, if MS Word is running on a computer then “MS Word” and the document name will be shown in the title bar along with the maximise, minimise and close button. Apart from describing the window or open program, the title bar is also seen to contain several features which depend on the program or operating system in which we are seeing the title bar.
Title Bar in the computer has some basic features which are present in all types of the operating system. However, their alignment might be different. A standard title bar will always have close, maximise as well as minimise buttons. On the program’s windows top left corner, an icon is present which if clicked shows these three options. Some extra features of the title bar have been outlined in the following that may not all be available in the case of programs and operating systems.
Press and at the same time hold the left click button of the mouse on the title bar for moving the window that is currently open.
The title bar should be double-clicked for maximising the windows as well as set the window in the window mode form.
Moreover, in the case of Window 7, the feature of side – by – side window was introduced.
Title Bar in MS Word
The Title Bar in MS Word is present beside the Quick Access Toolbar. The main function of this title bar is to show the details or title of the document that is currently open. In some graphical interfaces, it is seen that the window that is currently open can be moved through holding and dragging that window’s title bar.
Title Bar in Microsoft Excel
The Title Bar in the case of MS Excel performs a similar function as that of the title bar in any other application. Just like any application that is compliant with Microsoft, the title bar in the case of Microsoft Excel shows the application name as well as the name of the file that is currently running. Here the file name refers to the name of the worksheet and it can be found at the extreme left of the title bar. Through the process of clicking two times on the title bar, the Window can be switched from a maximised mode to its original mode or vice – versa. If someone moves the cursor to the title bar and presses the right mouse click button then he or she can see that a shortcut menu is opening that helps in restoring, maximising as well as minimising the window that is presently active. In addition to these, one can also move the active Microsoft Excel window through clicking and at the same time dragging the Title Bar, particularly in restore mode.
