The search engine is a software program that helps in linking the user's request to the World Wide Web so that the users can get their desired result page.

Search engines accept the queries of the users and link them to the World Wide Web that provides the outcomes as per the demand of the users. Search engines work as the mediator between the user and the worldwide web. The details about the search engine are going to be discussed in the section that helps the customers in understanding the role of “search engines.”

Define the concept and processes of Search Engine

A “search engine” is software that is web-based and helps the users in getting information regarding their queries. The search engine is a mediator between the user and web browser and gathers information from the web browser as per the queries provided by the users. The users enter their queries on the web browser and the search engine provides the list of outcomes that matches the queries of the users. The search engine provides the interface for the users and helps them in getting the result as per the needs of the users. The work of search engines is to locate the information for the users as per their queries. The major processes of search engine are as follows

Web crawling

The process that helps in indexing the data available on web pages with the use of a program or a machine-driven script is known as “web crawling.”

Indexing

The process of understanding the content of the pages after the discovery of the page is called indexing. For example, Google observes the page content such as images, videos, and catalogues that are embedded with the page.

Ranking

The process of interpreting the query of the user so that the identification of the web pages can be done is called “ranking.”

“Search engine optimization”

The procedure of improving the “search engine” tools so that the users can get their desired output in an easy way and effectively is known as “search engine optimization.” The optimization of search engines is related to the improvement of the site that increases the visibility and provides an easy process for the users in their searching behaviour. The reason for the optimization of the search engine is to improve the quality of the content on the web that helps the users in getting their desired information. The optimization of search engines enhances the quality of the content and reduces the traffic of the World Wide Web that arises during the time of processing of queries of the users. The optimization of the search engine requires various factors such as the speed of loading of the [age, user experience, number of incoming links, and the quality of incoming links. The more links are connected to the content the more will be the user’s interact with the search engine. Search engine optimization is to keep the website at the top of the result page so that the users can use and enhance the earnings of the specific page.

The “search engine” is a platform that helps the users in searching the internet content and the examples of search engines are Google, Yahoo, and many more.

“Search engine marketing” in the form of digital marketing that helps in optimising the visibility of pages on the search engine to increase the traffic. Search engine-marketing increases the visibility of the websites and links to the result pages so that the users can be attracted by the website and website traffic can increase. The search engine marketing form uses paid promotion for the websites and points those websites on the result page to attract customers. Google is the highest-paid form of search engine marketing. The marketing happens by the use of some keywords and phrases that attract the customers to open the advertisement page at the time of browsing the World Wide Web that increases the website traffic of the advertisement page and enhances the earning of the specified website.
