The meaning and significance of ribbon are varied in different sectors. In the decorating elements sector ribbon is an important element to bind any materials of solid type and it is useful in decorating something beautifully. Mainly it is made of silk or woven fabric and is used to knot multiple things together in a decoration process. In other perspectives, ribbon is a computation element and referred to as a bar in computer processes. It appears in the windows bar of a computer in the bar tab and has multiple divisions to apply. Those commands made of similar meaning are settled in the ribbon tab.

Computer Word Processing

In the computer process unit ribbon can be referred through multiple aspects of computational process those are:

  • Ribbon can be used in transferring any type of link in the case of impact printing process. For this aspect, ribbon is present in some machines like typewriters, stenotype machines and many others.

  • In the case of  Microsoft programming method, ribbon is present in Microsoft Excel and in Word too. The ribbon tab is a substitutional tab for the toolbar and file menu. As per the activity in word or excel the programming function of ribbon is getting changed. Sometimes the write tab is visible in the place of a ribbon on the computer.

  • The customisation process of ribbon can be done by right-clicking on ribbon tab and there the customisation option has appeared. The customisation press of ribbon tab is beneficial in changing whatever is displayed in the ribbon tab.

Ribbons and balloons

In the section of decorating material ribbon is a material of cloth and is used to bind some solid elements. The silk ribbon is mainly used for the balloons and it is used to bind multiple balloons together for any type of party and occasion in internal decoration. There are different uses and different shapes of ribbons and balloons used for decorative purposes. The curling ribbon is mainly used for the balloons in any type of decoration. The helium-filled balloons are usually bonded through curly ribbons to put them together and to control the air inside of the balloons.

Burning of magnesium ribbon

In the case of chemical reaction, the magnesium ribbon burning process can be done in the Bunsen burner in a laboratory process. Litmus paper is a significant element for conducting the experiment of burning magnesium ribbons. By rubbing the magnesium ribbon through sandpaper, the experiment can be started. After that, a silvery whitish flavour will appear in the paper because the paper colour of magnesium is close to silver shade. The magnesium ribbon is burnt into the air to produce MgO (Magnesium oxide) and white ashes are left due to the silver shade of magnesium. Mg + O2 → 2MgO

Mostly the red litmus is attracted towards the magnesium ribbon and as per the effect of magnesium, the red litmus becomes blue. Sometimes carbon dioxide is extracted from the burning reaction of magnesium ribbon in the air. The continuation in burning is visible due to the presence of CO2 in the reaction experiment process. White flame has come to be visible after the reaction process and the magnesite ore and dolomite are obtained through the magnesium ribbon.

Gold ribbon png

Polyester is the main element in the manufacturing process of gold ribbons. It is also called a riband and used to bind something like a gift or present to give someone. The transparent background of these gold ribbons sometimes gives a delicate view of material after binding. The glittering texture in the ribbon gives an aesthetic view to the customers and it attracts the maximum number of consumers to use it. In the case of floral arrangements, marriage decoration, birthday parties and any type of internal decoration the gold ribbon is a very significant and attractive material to use.

Ribbon of thermal transferring

Different layers of coating are found in the thermal transferable ribbon in several chemical institutions. Several industrial areas follow this thermal transferring process in ribbon to maintain the smoothness in smear damaging methods. In the back layer section, this process is followed usually. Releasing the better ink in the back film portion the thermal transformation process is included through ribbon. In the PET film on base section, the transformation is followed by a thermal ribbon. Carbon is used in the process of thermal transformation of ribbon in the receiving material.

Conclusion

Concluding the study on ribbon the major three aspects have come out; those are the decorating aspects of ribbon, computing aspects of ribbon and lastly the chemical perspectives. Magnesium ribbon burning is an effective chemical experimental process that is followed by several academic experiments and practical work. The computing section of ribbon is used by the customisation process of the tab and in the motley utilised window programming of MS word and excel are the most significant.
