Introduction
As we all know, the world is surrounded by computer technologies. Through this technology and the power of different devices, we now can perform different tasks like processing huge amounts of data in a very short time, using enormous energy but with minimal energy loss.
PowerPoint is an incredibly useful software that we all use day in, day out. It helps us keep on track with our work and gives us a good chance to shine. With so many different adding slides, hyperlinks, SmartArt graphics and other types of content on the web, it can be challenging to find what you need.
SmartArt Graphic
SmartArt is a PowerPoint feature that allows you to express ideas visually. In contrast to traditional bullet points, which are rows of disconnected words, SmartArt diagrams are composed of shapes arranged in orderly clusters.
How to insert SmartArt graphic
Step 1: Select a slide of your choice in which you have to add a SmartArt Graphic.
Step 2: Go to insert and select the ‘SmartArt’ icon under the Illustrations group.
Step 3: A SmartArt dialogue box will appear. Choose your desired graphic from the category section on the left.
Step 4: This will insert your desired SmartArt graphic on the current slide.
You can add text to your graphic by clicking on [Text]
How to insert Chart
There are multiple charts used in PowerPoint. We can choose the right Chart as per our requirement and display it to our public. There are different types of charts like Tabular, Column, Bar, Line Chart etc. These charts help us to present the data clearly and easily.

Step 2: Go to insert and select the ‘Chart’ icon under the Illustrations group.
Step 3: A chart dialogue box will appear. Select your desired Chart from the category section on the left.
Step 4: Your desired Chart will appear on the slide. Along with the Chart, an excel sheet will appear with the given data of the Chart. You can edit the data accordingly.
How to add video
Video can be a powerful communication tool and a great way to engage your audience. Videos can be more interesting and memorable than traditional slides, especially if they involve animations or interactive content. However, not every PowerPoint presentation requires a video (or even makes sense with a video). You need to follow the steps to make your presentation more engaging.
- Online Video
For embedding online videos, one must have a good internet connection.
- Tracking down the video
Step 1: The first thing you need to do to add a video is locate the video you wish to add. For that, go to the video that you wish to add and copy the URL of the video.
To copy the URL of the online video:
Go to the video
Select share
Click on copy
- Adding the video in Powerpoint
Step 2: Go to insert and select the video option under the ‘Media’ group and click on online videos.
Step 3: Paste the URL in the blank and click on insert.
Step 4: This will upload the video. It may take a minute or two to get uploaded.
- Offline videos
Step 1: Go to the video under the ‘Media’ group and select ‘this device’.
Step 2– Select your desired video and then click on insert.
How to add audio
Step 1: Select a slide of your choice in which you have to add audio.
Step 2: Go to insert and select the audio option under the ‘Media’ group.
Step 3: If you have already recorded audio on your PC, choose from the folder and click on insert.
Record audio
To insert recorded audio, instead of clicking on ‘choose the audio’, click on record audio.
Then click on the mic; this will start your audio recording. Once done, you can listen to the audio by clicking on the play option and inserting it on your slide.
How to add a Hyperlink
If you’ve ever put together a PowerPoint presentation, you have probably used the Hyperlink tool to connect your slides to other materials or webpages. When you place a Hyperlink on your slide, you can tell it what file to link to, what the text inside the link should say and even what colour it should be. However, PowerPoint hyperlinks are not limited to just local presentations.
Step 1: Choose PowerPoint presentations.
Step 2– Select the picture, shape or text that’s to be used as a hyperlink
Step 3– Open the selected file/web page
Step 4- Add a Link to Websites Add a Hyperlink to Different Areas (optional)
While inserting the hyperlink, keep these things in mind:
- Text to display: where you add the words/Text you want to show in your presentation
- where you want it to point: should use the file’s name.
