Letter and number series help to arrange letters and numbers consecutively to simplify the calculation

Introduction 

Letter and number series define the consequent order of numbers and letters that helps in a ruled calculation of every particular series. These rules or calculations are generally determined by mathematical calculation. These rules of arranging the letters and numbers help to prepare the English alphabet logically to represent the series mathematically. The series is applied to mathematical problems to evaluate the correct result. 

The number and letter series refers to the series that arranges both numbers and letters in sequential order so that every term in that specific series is calculated with particular specific rules. These rules are taken from the mathematical functions and applied to get the right answer. This series is the logical preparation of English alphabets and numbers in a particular mathematical pattern.

Overview on letter and number series 

The concept of letter and number series is generally discussed under logical reasoning. Letter and number series have a wide application in the science and technology part, as the letter and number series is typically used to form any simple formula for mathematical application. Moreover, letter and number series are also used in coding functions for the operation process. Letter series refers to the idle arrangement of the alphabet where each series is formed with the combination of letters and numbers. The single element or the group is called a term. Furthermore, the number series is a particular form of the numbers in a series where the main objective is to determine the missing number. The letter series is of three types as mentioned below:

Alphabet series: The alphabet series is a reverse combination of English alphabets that helps to identify the skip letter, determine the letter’s position. For example, to identify the particular letter in the series, suppose, ‘A, E, I, M, ?’ hence the answer will be ‘Q’. The justification behind the series is, as the gap between every alphabet is up to the next fourth alphabet. Hence the fourth letter next to ‘M’ is ‘Q’. 

“Continuous pattern series”: This kind of series is generally formed with the capital and small alphabet. Here the performer needs to find out the missing alphabet for the blank place. For example, suppose a series is given as, efge_fgeef_ge_ffg_e then the missing letters in the series will be efeg respectively. Here the justification behind the solution is, as the pattern of the given series is efg/eefg/eeffg/eeffgg/e => efeg. 

Mixed series: This kind of series is formed by combining the letters and numbers both. For a better understanding of the mixed series, suppose a series is given as “C-3, E-5, G-7, I-9, ?, ?” then the solution will be “K-11 and M-13”, as each letter in the series is presented as the next letter of the previous and at the same time, the numbers are skipped to the next second number. 

Some tips for cracking the letter and number series are to break the whole complex series into simple ones, focus on the change in series with successive patterns and eliminate the wrong choices that help the candidates for solving complex number-letter series in the examination. These series must follow a pattern of division and multiplication of the given numbers and solve the missing series.

Number alphabet series

The number alphabet series known as an alphanumeric series includes a series that is formed by both numbers and alphabets. There are several types of questions related to the alphanumeric series; is “alphabet- number- symbol”, numerical series, alphabetic series, and m missing series. Missing series starts as a series of numbers and the alphabet may be given in a specific pattern and students must fill the blank of the required element.

Alphabetic series includes a series with no numbers and having only English alphabets set in their pattern. Candidates need to fill the missing series between the two or more alphabets. In “alphabet- number- symbol” has a format of numbers, alphabets and several types of symbols and candidates must solve this series with a decoding system.
