Kerala PSC Eligibility Criteria

The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) conducts the exam to recruit candidates for various posts such as Sub-inspector, Assistant Professor, Section Officer, and Divisional Accountant among others.

Eligibility Criteria for Kerala PSC 10+2 Level Exam

The commission has set different age limit criteria for various posts. Candidates need to fulfil the following age limit criteria to appear for the exam:

Eligibility Criteria for Kerala PSC Degree level Exam

Age Limit

The commission has set different age limit criteria for various posts. Candidates need to fulfil the following age limit criteria to appear for the exam:

Age Relaxation

Applicants belonging to the SC/ST/OBC categories are also eligible for age relaxation for the Kerala PSC exam. The allotted age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST, while the age relaxation for the OBC category for the degree level exam is 3 years.

Educational Qualification

To be eligible for the Kerala PSC exam, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria set by the Kerala PSC:

  • The candidate must have finished a Bachelor’s degree/graduation in any stream from a government recognized university/institution
  • The candidate must have a 50% aggregate (for General category) and 45% aggregate (for SC/ST/OBC)
  • The candidate must know to understand, read, write, and speak the Malayalam language

Nationality

  • Only Indian citizens having a permanent residence in Kerala can apply
  • They must have a legal address and proof of residence available with them while applying

Eligibility Criteria for Kerala PSC 10th level Exam

The applicant must have qualified SSLC or its equivalent from a recognized board

They must have a Malayalam typewriting Lower Grade Certificate, Lower Grade Certificate KGTE or MGTE English typewriting, and Certification of six months in MS Office and DTP

Stenographer

Minimum qualification 10th standard or SSLC or its equivalent 

The candidate must have a lower grade certificate in KGTE Malayalam typewriting, higher grade certificate in KGTE English Typewriting and Computer Processing and shorthand English (lower) KGTE Certificate

Lower Division Clerk

Must have completed SSLC or its equivalent from a recognized board

Office Attendant and Secretariat Office Attendant
