Exam Cut off for Sub Inspector of Police (Kerala Civil Police)

The Kerala Police service commission is a reputable organisation in the Kerala state. Every year the organisation sends out notifications for the positions available across the state. They hire for various positions every year. The KCP exams are held for both males and females.

Various stages of exams

The KCP exams are held in several stages and the applicants are required to qualify them all to get selected.

The stages are: 

  • Written test
  • Physical efficiency test and medical efficiency test
  • Interview and verification of documents 

Written test exam pattern 

The KCP exam can be conducted online as well as offline depending on the situation. The exam is an objective-based paper. The exam duration is 1 hour 15 minutes which carries 100 marks. The pattern of the exam is:

  1. General Knowledge (35 marks)
  2. English (30 marks)
  3. Arithmetic and ability (35 marks)

The applicant clearing this written exam will be shortlisted for physical and medical tests.

Physical efficiency test and medical efficiency test

Under the KCP exam, the applicants have to face a physical efficiency test that involves measurement and physical tests of the candidate. The criteria are different for both males and females. This test also differs for various reserved categories.

Physical measurement for male and female 

  • Male 

General and OBC: 5’5”

ST/SC: 5’3”

  • Female

General and OBC: 5’3″

SC/ST: 5’1″

There are various events and standards for physical efficiency tests for both males and females. 

Vision eligibility test

  1. Distant vision

Right eye: 6/6 Snellen

Left eye: 6/6 Snellen

  1. Near vision

Right eye: 0.5 Snellen

Left eye: 0.5 Snellen

Interview and verification of documents

Document verification is the last stage. The required documents are first verified and then the applicant is sent for the personal interview round. The documents must be authentic. The applicants are asked about their capabilities as per the job profile. The applicants who clear this round are selected for Kerala Civil Police.

Exams expected cut-offs marks

After the recruitment exam, the KCP releases the cut-off marks. The applicants are needed to score equal to or more than the cut-off marks to clear the exam.

The cut-off marks expected for the exam in 2022: 

  • General Category- 54 marks 
  • SC- 45 marks
  • NCC Ward: 40 marks
  • ST- 42 marks
  • OBC- 43 marks

Cut-off marks is the minimum marks an applicant needs to score. Anybody scoring less than the cut-off marks will not qualify for the next round. Every category has its cut-off marks mentioned, applicants can estimate their chances of passing through these scores.
