Exam Pattern for Section Officer
The exam is conducted in 2 stages-
Stage 1: Preliminary exam.
Stage 2: Mains exam.
Stage 1: Preliminary Exam Pattern
In this exam, students are provided with the OMR sheet and they have to attempt the objective type questions and answers with an exam duration of 1:30 minutes. 1 mark will be given to each correct answer and 0.33 will be the negative marking for incorrect answer and there will be no deduction of marks in case of no attempt. The medium of exam will be either English or their home language Malayalam (except the questions of language). The subjects it includes are; History, Geography, Civics, Economics, Indian Constitution, General English, Computer Science, Arts, Sports and Literature, Science and Technology, Regional Language, Simple Arithmetic and Mental Ability.
Stage 2: Main Exam
After qualifying the preliminary exam with minimum qualifying marks, the candidate can apply for the section officer exam in which the exam is also of OMR type for 100 marks with exam time duration 1.5 hours. The subjects it includes are Indian history, world history, economics, geography etc. 1 mark will be given to each correct answer and 0.33 will be the negative marking for incorrect answer and there will be no deduction of marks in case of no attempt.
