The KAS exam will be divided into three parts: prelims, mains, and personality test. The OMR-based Prelims test is an objective-type exam. The preliminary exam lasts three hours (180 Minutes) for both papers- 90 minutes for each paper. Each question in the prelims exam is worth one mark, with a 1/3 penalty for each incorrect response. The Kerala Administrative Service Exam mains exam is a descriptive type. The KAS Mains Exam is made up of three papers.

  • There are a hundred questions in paper 1. All of them are objective types and contain two marks each.
  • If you make an incorrect attempt, 0.33 marks are deducted as negative marking.
  • The exam duration is 1.5 hours.
