Examination Details:
Excise inspector trainee is a job recruitment examination conducted by the Kerala government. It is a direct recruitment procedure that can be applied online. The Examination is conducted in two stages, a written examination and a physical endurance test. The candidate must clear out the written examination according to the cut of marks to appear in the physical tests. The physical test is furthermore divided into two categories to provide a provision for the male candidates and the female candidates. The physical endurance tests have specific qualification standards for male and female candidates.
Negative Markings:
The written examination of the excise inspector trainee is an objective type in the English language. The overall duration of the examination is 75 minutes. It consists of 100 questions, and each question carries one mark. Therefore, the total mark for the examination is 100. However, there is a provision of negative marking in the examination for every wrong answer.1/3 of the marks are deducted for every wrong answer, and no mark is deducted for the number of questions that are left unanswered.
Qualifying Marks:
The qualification marks are enlisted on the official website of KPSC. Whereas, it is quite easy to calculate the obtained marks, but counting the total number of correctly answered questions, each of them will carry one mark. Then, count the number of the questions that are answered wrong. For every wrong answer, subtract ⅓ of the marks from the total marks obtained.
However, cut off marks of the examination are released on the official website depending upon the category reservations, including general, OBC, SC and ST.
