Eligibility Criteria for Divisional Accountant Post

To be eligible to give the divisional accountant examination under Kerala General Services, the candidates have to fulfil the following criteria:

Age Limit

The candidates should be in the age group of 18-36 years, i.e., born between 2nd January 1985 to 1st January 2003. Relaxations are provided to the candidates belonging to the reserved castes such as scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward castes. For the candidates belonging to the Ezhava, Muslim and OBC Category, a relaxation of three years is provided on the upper age limit. For the candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, a relaxation of five years is provided on the upper age limit.

Educational Qualifications

  • For the candidates belonging to the general category, he/she must produce a university degree in M.Com from a recognised institution or the candidate must have passed the interim examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or Institute of Cost or Works Accountants of India
  • In case the candidate does not have the mentioned degrees, he/she must produce a government order that his/her qualification is suitable to the eligibility criteria mentioned for the divisional accountant
  • All the certificates which will be produced by the candidates will be cross-verified and if any changes have been made, the candidates will have to produce appropriate proofs for the same
  • For the candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, having a university degree is sufficient to be eligible for the post
