Village Field Assistant Notifications 2021

The Kerala Public Service Commission coordinates the recruitment procedure of village field assistants or VFAs in the Revenue Department. Village field assistants are responsible for producing field reports from recorded data that are presented to the State Revenue Department. The aspirants need to pass the preliminary examination to qualify for the mains. Thereby the merit list announces the successful candidates who fill up the vacancies in a particular district. The registration window for the upcoming village field assistant exam ended on 20th October 2021. Exam Facts

In 2021, approximately 10 lakh aspirants applied for the position of a village field assistant. To stand out from the crowd and score a sufficient cutoff percentile each candidate should thoroughly go through the below-mentioned facts:

  • Common Preliminary Online Examination of 100 marks is conducted. The syllabus includes four major subjects. Here the candidates need to mark the correct option on OMR sheets
  • The applications get accepted for candidates securing above 85 points. Reservation quota candidates are asked to provide sufficient evidence within a period
  • The final examination is objective type and is held online 
  • Exam duration: 2 hours
  • The ranks for the post are determined in the final exam
  • Altogether there are 6 papers for the final examination:
  1. GK
  2. History of Kerala
  3. General English language
  4. Natural Science
  5. Physical Science
  6. Arithmetic problems and mental ability

Procedure to apply for Kerala PSC –Village Field Assistant Examination

The entire application process is restricted to online mode. The interested candidates should check the official webpage www.keralapsc.gov.in daily to learn about the important dates, syllabus, eligibility, etc. They can note it down for their convenience. 

To successfully apply, please go through the following procedure:

  • Visit the homepage of the Kerala Public Service Commission’s official website
  • Carefully select the option that leads to the application form
  • Select the year from the generated dropdown list before clicking on the ‘Village Field Assistant’ from the list
  • Fill up the personal details to create a profile and set up a password
  • Log in to fill up the application form before the closure date. Provide the documents that are asked for
  • Download the admit card from the One Time Registration Link
  • Collect a printout for future reference

The pattern of the Village Field Assistant Exam

We have witnessed very few significant edits in the examination format for the job position of Village Field Assistant under the Revenue Department. The students who’ve been issued the Secondary School Leaving Certificate by any recognized institution are eligible to appear for the preliminary test. The prelims represent an MCQ format. The total mark for the examination is 100. The paper is divided into four separate sections.

Application fees are not charged to the examinees who wish to sit for the Kerala PSC examination. A correction window is provided for the candidates to check and edit the information before submitting the final application. If any data is found to be incorrect after that, the application might be cancelled for that particular year. 

Candidates are advised to check the official website for any possible changes in the instructions. 

Village Field Assistant or VFA – Eligibility 

The position presents the below-mentioned eligibility credentials:

  • Examinees should not exceed the age of 36 years. The minimum age for applying is 18. Age relaxation for reserved classes is considered by the Kerala Public Service Commission
  • The applicants must pass the 10th standard of CBSE or State Secondary Education Board

Note: Due to minimum eligibility requirements the competition is pretty tough for the post of a village field assistant. This reason triggers the soaring cutoff marks in the preliminary examination.
