Marking Scheme for Stenographer Post

Kerala PSC for the stenographer position has certain requirements for the marking scheme. KPSC or Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) is a competitive recruitment examination. This examination is held in the state of Kerala for aspirants looking for lucrative placements in various public service sectors. The stenographer position has certain eligibility criteria including the generalized requirements and there are some specialized criteria. The stenographer post belongs to the department of KSBC. The marking scheme for the stenographer position in Kerala PSC has been provided in the following sections. The Kerala PSC examinations are held in the state to recruit the best talent suited for appropriate governmental positions and sectors. 

Marking Scheme for Kerala PSC 2022

As of now, there have not been any drastic changes made to the marking scheme for the Kerala PSC examination. Candidates must regularly check the official website for such updates and revisions in the marking scheme. The marking pattern for each category of civil service examinations follows the same overall pattern. Additional information regarding the marking scheme for the stenographer position have been given.

  • 3 division of overall exams
  • Screening test (200)
  • Descriptive Papers (300)
  • Interview (50)

The preparation for the Kerala PSC exams for stenographers has to be done based on the papers and their subjects. As the entire qualification process is long and extensive, students and candidates must want to snag the position of study and effectively prepare themselves. Preparation of crisp and informative notes is of utmost importance. Mock tests, solving MCQs, and practising with last year or the last 5 to 10 years’ questions papers for each section of the exam is essential if candidates wish to score good marks. Any other additional information has to be learned from visiting the official website and keeping tabs on the updated guidelines and regulations issued by the Kerala PSC. 

Marking Scheme for Prelims

Under the Kerala PSC exams, there are two broad sections of questions that candidates have to qualify for to arrive at the last stage of qualifications, which is the interview round. For the Prelims, certain characteristics have to be kept in mind.

  • An exam can be taken either in offline or online mode, depending on the pandemic situation and state guidelines regarding that
  • It is conducted based on OMR
  • There are two papers under the Prelims titled General Studies I along with General Paper-II
  • Each paper carries 100 marks, the total is 200 marks
  • Each paper is of one and a half hours, so the total is three hours
  • Negative marking is applicable
  • 1/3 marks are deducted for incorrect answers, while 1 mark is accorded to a correctly answered question

Marking Scheme for Mains

Certain features of the Mains exams have been provided below. Under the Kerala PSC exams, there are two broad sections of questions that candidates have to qualify for to arrive at the last stage of qualifications, which is the interview round. It is important to take note of these characteristics. 

  • Descriptive type of exam is conducted
  • There are three papers titled General Studies I along with General Paper-II and General Paper III
  • Each paper carries 100 marks, so the total marks are 300
  • Each paper has a time limit of two hours, so the total time is six hours
  • There are no negative markings here, nor are there any MCQ

The exams are conducted generally in two languages: Malayalam and English

Kerala PSC 2022 Interview Round

After the candidates have qualified for the two exams, they appear for the interview round, where a personality exam is held on 50 marks. Effective communications skills, peoples’ skills, typing speed, necessary qualifications and documents proving eligibility, in-depth knowledge about the subject, and confidence will help candidates a good result in the interview round. These requirements are the same for the stenographer position, provided that other eligibility qualifications have been met and all the existing documents of the candidates are verified.
