Nizam was a powerful and respectful position in Hyderabad. The article discusses the different aspects of the Nizam. The Nizam system divided the realm into three sections, with each section’s work categorised. “Nizam-ul-Mulk”

“Nizam-ul-Mulk” is a great achievement in the state of Hyderabad. The Nizams are the rulers of the Mughal Empire’s judicial departments and the source of all civil and military power.. They are to appoint any officer by their name, they can make the rules and regulations, and they can fly their flag with their government. The kingdom is divided into three parts, the first part is known as “Sarf-i-Khas,” they are the private estate. In the second part, the area allocated for the expense of the government is known as “Diwan’s territory.” The rest of them were distributed among the Muslim nobles such as ulamas. They collect the revenue from the villagers and give gifts to the Nizam. The Nizam have other sources of revenue that includes the share from the unearthed gems and diamonds and the income from their vast personal estates. After becoming the ruler of Hyderabad, the Nizam did not fight many conflicts. In the battle of Palkhed in 1728, he clashed with the Marathas, and they were defeated by the Marathas. This fight was fought by the Peshwa chief Baji Rao I..

“Nizam ul mulk” Asaf jah

The “Asaf Jah” is from the Turkish dynasty, in modern days the region is known as Uzbekistan “Khwaja Abid” is the grandfather of the 1st nizam and he was born in Aliabad. Aliabad is near the kingdom of Bukhara known as Samarkand. In 1665, Khwaja Abid visited India and represented himself in the Imperial courts of the Mughals. He created a favourable impression on the Mughals and many of the Mugal empires have favoured and given the honour. The association between the “Nizams and Delhi” lasted until the end of the Mughals. In 1657, Khwaja Abid returned from Mecca and agreed with Aurangzeb to defect to his brother. He successfully defeated his brother with the help of Aurangzeb and claimed the throne. Aurangzeb makes Khwaja Abid, the governor of Ajmer.

The decline of the Mughal Empire and the rise of the Asaf Jahi dynasty are interlinked. Asaf Jha arrives in Hyderabad and does the same as the Mughal has done in Delhi. The political development in Hyderabad helps them to rule over the Decan. In the beginning, the Aurangzeb gained the control of Golconda Fort. Aurangzeb succeeded in spreading the Mugal rules in the south of the subcontinent.

1st “Nizam of Hyderabad”

“Chin Qilich Kamaruddin khan” is the first “Nizam of Hyderabad.” The nizam also provided support to the Mughal Empire. In 1739, Nadir shah” was a powerful ruler and known as the “Napoleon of Persia.” The shah invaded the Mughal Empire; the Nizam provided military support to the Mughal empire. However, the invasion of the shahs could not be stopped by the Mughal empire. The combined force of the Mugal and Nizam were not able to stop the army of Shah. In the invasion, to Delhi, the shah army had killed 20,000 to 30, 000 people in a day.

The ruler of the Mughal Empire had the fear of the shah and acceded to negotiate with the Shah to stop the bloodbath. Along with this, the Nizam appealed to shah and convinced to stop the bloodbath and make them turn back. The nizams are considered the most important state of the Muslims outside the Middle East. The first nizam passed at the age of 76 in 1748. He ruled for 24 years, his tomb is near Aurangabad. The death of the Nizam became the contention for power struggle between the “British, French, Marathas”, and the sons of Nizam. In 1762, the second Nizam was recognized; he was the fourth son of Nizam named “Mir Ali khan.”

Conclusion

The assignments can be summarised as the first ruler of the Nizam is “Mir Quamaruddin khan” and the second nizam is the fourth son of Nizam “Mir Ali khan.” They are the effective and trustworthy people of the Mughal rulers. Together with this, the title “Nizam-ul-Mulk” is awarded by the farrukhsiyar.
