Biology refers to the study of existence, living things, & life’s evolution. Animals, plants, fungi, microbes, and other living things
Biology is also known as life science, which would be derived from of the Greek words ‘bios’ (life) & ‘logy’ (study). That really is, it is a natural science that studies life & living creatures, their structure, functioning, evolution, expansion, distribution, & classification. In 1801, scientists Lamarck & Triviranus coined the word biology.
Applied Biology / Applied Research refers to the study of living creatures in order to develop different technologies or strategies to influence natural or other events.

The development of biology as a progressive knowledge occurred during the time of the eminent Greek greek Philosopher (384- 322 B.C.). He shared his opinions on numerous elements of plant & animal life. As a result, Aristotle is known as the “Father of Biology.”
Biology, along with Physics and Chemistry, is one of 3 main subjects of the Science stream that examines life & living creatures. Natural science is concerned with the physical architecture, molecular interactions, chemical properties, development, physiological mechanisms, & evolution of living stuff. Biology encompasses a wide range many specialised topics. However, all schools of Biology investigate the same key element: cells, the smallest fundamental life unit. It is among the most difficult disciplines to learn since it is made up of several branches or specialties. However, because it covers the principles of several sub-fields, so scope of biologists as a vocation is quite broad.
