UKG Full Form

UKG is a class or preschool for kids aged 3 to 4 years, and the complete form is Upper KinderGarten. It is also known as “Garden for Children” and has a one-year duration. Kids spend about 3-4 hours per day in UKG. They get involved in learning activities, various lessons, and fun activities like dancing.

In UKG, children learn in a fun way. Teachers teach children in such a way that they can enjoy learning. UKG plays an important role in a kid’s life. At the same time, it is beneficial to learn daily habits and routines. Before UKG, children should join LKG, Lower KinderGarten. Because these three classes are an important part of kids’ schooling.

According to the Indian education system, there are three years of elementary education. These are Nursery, LKG, and UKG. Before entering primary school, children should join these classes. This elementary education is essential for children. It helps them to increase their knowledge and prepares them for primary school.

History

Johann Friedrich Oberlin and Louise Scheppler established a primary school. 

• In Strasbourg, in 1779, to educate very young pre-school students
• A similar school started in Bavaria in 1780 to educate preschool students

Many institutes started in this way at that time. And so the imports of UKG and LKG increased. It necessitates the need for children to teach UKG. Each location handles admission to UKG in a different way

Importance of UKG in a kid’s life

In India and many countries, a child must attend UKG. Kids learn alphabets and numbers and various other activities in this class. Other curricular activities can range from learning about shapes to dancing and singing.
