Introduction
The same certificate, issued at the end of senior secondary education, is known by different names in India. Depending upon the region, it may be called HSC(Higher Secondary School) or Matriculation Certificate, while in other regions, it may be called SSLC( Secondary School Leaving Certificate). Essentially, they both are the same.
The SSLC is quite essential. It is required for further studies, moving to class 11 and also to get a driving licence. It is also required while applying for other identity proofs such as a PAN card. All the major educational boards in India issue this certificate to their students on completion of secondary school.
Issuing Process
The SSLC is issued by the school authorities. It is issued in the name of the educational board the school is affiliated with. School education in India is mainly centred on three spheres: primary, secondary and high school. Classes 10 and 12 are also called the board classes. The final exams in these classes are called the board exams and are extremely important in the educational career of the student. These exams are an important step in the student’s life and help in determining the future career path of the student.
Apart from the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE), all the major boards issue the SLCC certificate in India. Some of the boards issuing SLCC are as follows:

The roll number of the applicant is written at the side of the name
This is followed by the names of parents below the name of the applicant
The name of the school/institution is what comes after the name of the parents in SSLC
This is then followed by a table containing marks and grades of the subjects chosen by the applicant for exams
The meaning of various abbreviations follows the table at the bottom left corner and the final result (pass/fail) is written at the side of abbreviation meanings
Finally, the date and city are written at the bottom left, accompanied by the signature of the controller of examinations at the bottom right
