SALT Full Form

Lymphoid tissues refer to those cells and organs that complete the body by providing the lymphatic system which consists of White Blood Cells (WBC), Bone marrow, Thymus, Spleen and Lymph nodes. Lymphoid tissues have a variety of structural organizations which relates to any particular function of the immune system. 

Strategic Arms Limitations Talk was a conference that was done because of the cold war and it had 2 rounds in which the United States and the Soviet Union were invited. 2 rounds that happened were named SALT 1 and SALT 2 and both of them had different outcomes. 

Skin Associated Lymphoid Tissues

Skin Associated Lymphoid Tissue (SALT) stands for a conceptual framework that helps get knowledge on cutaneous immunity and also helps in building up the understanding. This proves that the existence of regional specialization immune system is real and even SALT represents one of the specializations. The skin which consists of immunologic requirements is termed as not usual and is opposed by a set that is specialized and includes pathogenic organisms and environmental chemicals which stand for the distinctive spectrum of antigenic specificities. 

Some of the following points which prove SALT exists are:

• The cutaneous microenvironment can accept, process and present nominal antigens on its own.
• Peripheral lymph nodes can easily accept the immunogenic signals which are obtained from the skin because they are located in such a way that makes it easier. 
• The subsets of the T lymphocytes showcase a different affinity for the skin and it is linked with peripheral nodes.
• The part where different signals are received in situ, which comes from resident cutaneous cells leads to the addition of affinity by the T cells.

As we know those 2 agreements were signed in SALT and they were named SALT 1 and SALT 2. So, the explanation of both the agreements are:

SALT 1 – The SALT 1 talk started in Helsinki, in November and during the year 1969. After negotiations, it finally came to an end and was signed on 26th May 1972. The outcome of this conference was the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty and provisional agreement that took place between the United States and the Soviet Union. 

SALT 2 –The SALT 2 talk started in 1972 and it came to end with a result in the year 1979 in Vienna. This took place between America and Soviet Negotiators. The outcome of this treaty was the US senate decided not to change anything in the treaty despite the invasion of the soviet in Afghanistan. This agreement got very much respect and is respected to date as this agreement expired on 31st December 1985 still both the countries abide by the rules and regulations in the treaty. 

Conclusion

As we conclude, we have a clear idea of both the full forms of SALT which are Skin Associated Lymphoid Tissue and Strategic Arms Limitations Talk. Here, the same word is having 2 full forms and the definition is completely different from one another. 

Skin Associated Lymphoid Tissue is yet a conceptual framework and has not been proven that it exists but some points still prove that SALT exists. As the lymphoid organs help in filtering the pathogens and also trap them. 

The Strategic Arms Limitations Talk was very important as it solved problems between 2 countries and it also led to START, Strategic Arms Reduction Treaties and 2 START took place during the time. START 1 took place between the United States and the Soviet Union and START 2 took place between the United States and Russia and even a proposal for a new START was made in February 2011.
