PD is the abbreviated form of the police department and public domain. The police department has a crucial responsibility to look after the order of a state or country. It refers to the department of police, which consists of several forces and specialised organisations to work and function as a unit to maintain law and order in a country. In contrast, the public domain refers to the right to the work of an individual. The public domain illustrates the right of the creator or an individual to do their work. What is a Police Department?
The Police Department is the department of municipal authority in charge of the safety and sense of the crime. It is the department made to perform the work for the local government. Every state and country has their police departments. There are various unique and specialised wings for battling organised crimes, rages, economic offensive activity, etc. As modernisation is going at its peak, it has also aided in training, telecommunication, technical support such as radios, computers, new and very productive gadgets, modern weapons, forensic science, the latest vehicles, etc. The Police Department includes several terms or departments, namely;

Police in Modern India
In India, the Police are controlled by respective Union territories and States and known as State Police Services (SPS). The Aspirants selected for the State police services are generally posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police or Assistant Commissioner of Police. After serving as their respective posts in the State Police Service, the officers are nominated to the Indian Police Service(IPS). The Police in India wear a uniform known as “Khaki,” and the service colour is blue and red.
What are the objectives of the Police Department in India?
The first Police Commission of India was appointed on the 17th of August 1865, containing detailed guidelines for the Indian Police system and a part of the government department, which is used to maintain law and order and prevent and counter crime. The Police Department serves commanders and leaders to staff the state police and India, known as the Central Armed Police Force. Its leaders are generally the senior-rank officers in the police. There are some functions and objectives of an Indian Police officer, namely;
- To fulfil their duties on border responsibility, counter crime, maintain peace among people, collect their intelligence service, counter-terrorism, railway policing, border patrolling, drug trafficking, environmental law protection, smuggling, etc
- Commanding the various intelligence service Authorities like Intelligence Bureau (IB), Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI), Research and Analysis Wing(RAW), Central Investigation Department(CID), etc., all the armed and civil forces in all the union territories and states
- Command and lead the unit of force with courage, dedication, uprightness, and strong awareness of service to the people
- Respect for human rights and instil the integrity of the highest order and a level of professionalism
Who are Security Officers?
Security officers are the initial line of defence for the staff and patients. They protect the assets(property, money, etc.) from various ventures such as unsafe behaviour, criminal activity, damaged property). Security officers are mostly uniformed to represent their respective authority for whom they work. Security guards are mainly governed by legal regulations, such as past criminal record checks, which set their criteria. The authorities which are licensed to security officers or guards vary from country to country and Subnational territory or jurisdiction. Security Officers play a vital role in anticipating internal losses. They must know the latest technology and provide it, as it details their quality training and management.
What is Public Domain?
Public Domain includes all the creativity that a person has used in their work, to which no exclusive intellectual belongings rights apply. Those rights may have been forfeited, expressly waived, or may be unavailable. Let’s take a look at this by an example;
The works of the great legends like Leonardo da Vinci William Shakespeare are now in the public domain either because there was no copyright when they were invented or created, or their copyright time or term expired. Many works do not come under the country’s copyright laws and are public. For example, there are many formulae of Newtonian physics, computer software programs created before 1974, and cooking recipes.
The name Public Domain is not generally applied to the situations where the owner or the creator of their respective work retain their rights, in the case where work is averted as to “under licence.”
What is Public Domain Music?
People have been making or creating music since the golden age. The first musical writing system was created almost 4000 years ago. Latin music was the first to be introduced. After that, it laid the support for preserving music in the Public Domain. Many musicians copyrighted their publications of lyrical writing and notations but at that time, performing live someone else’s music was not part of the copyright.
The US put’s copyright on the composition and the sound system or recordings separately. The composition consists of melody, notation, or sheet music, and on the other hand, the sound recording includes the studio recording, LP, CD, or digital sound files.
