Introduction
NAAC works to check the conformance of standards set for Higher Educational institutions ( HLI).The quality status of an institution is defined based on certain quality parameters these are as follows :-

Based on these parameters the NAAC grading is given that furthermore adds to the institution . Better the grading, better the quality, the enrollment of students and hence growth of the institution.
Establishment
The establishment of NAAC came in the backdrop of National Program for education in the year 1986 and the programme of action of the year 1992.In order to address these two programmes via the help of various strategic policies a body was made – the national accreditation agency and simultaneously came the national assessment and accreditation council that is NAAC in the year 1994 with its headquarters att bangalore. NAAC is an autonomous institution of the University grants commission to the UGC.

Need of NAAC

NAAC CAMPUS
The campus is at Nagarbhavi opposite National law school in the Bangalore University. It is a five acre large campus made on sustainable lines with keeping in mind the carbon neutral and eco friendly concepts.The campus also has a garden . The NAAC garden is an eco-sensitive area with around 300 exotic and regional species .

The current chairman of the executive committee is Bhushan Patwardhan with S .C.Sharma as the director and professor M. Jagadesh Kumar as the president .
Working
NAAC works through the executive committee and general council which contains world class policy makers , educationalists and academica.the president of UGC is the president of general council of naac that as mentioned above professor m. jagdesh kumar .
Grading
The NAAC grades education institutions on the eight grade ladder .In particular range of the institutional CGPA a particular grade is given followed by accredited non accredited .for A++ GRADE (3.51-4.00 CGPA) , A+(3.26-3.50), A(3.01-3.25), B++(2.76 – 3.00) and so on.
Institutional CGPA ≤ 1.50 is not accredited.
