Introduction
Javascript object notation is considered as one of the open standards to format the file and interchange the data with the various applications which can be readable to humans. The JSON language is independent of data format, but there are many modern languages in the various programmes that prefer to generate code with the help of JSON format data. JSON was originally specified by Douglas Crockford in the early 2000s; Douglas Crockford and Chip Morningstar are the first ones to send the first JSON message in April 2001. These data are in the form of texts with “attributes values pairs and different arrays”, they are usually used in transmitting the data in electronic devices as electronic data.

JSON has grown out of the need of transferring data without using browser plug-in like flash or java. JSON has been developed as a communication portal for the transfer of data between the devices with the different applications in them. As JSON was found at the state software by Douglas Crockford, he was the one who first specified the JSON format and popularised format. Later he decided to use the format in the development of the system which can be considered as a standard browser with good capabilities. The extra layer of abstraction is provided by the web developer to create the application with connection to “hypertext transfer protocol or HTTP”.
The JSON basically stands for the text structure as the string which is used to transfer the different data over various platforms like web applications or websites or the network. The information is first converted into javascript to access the information and then the information is transmitted across the network. In order to understand information the same structures of JSON are followed all over the globe. The JSON structure or string can store their own file with the extension of “.json or MIME type is application/json”, they are generally text files with the data which are being transferred from one part to another. The JSON structures include various objects like “strings, numbers, arrays, and other various literal objects”. These characters and objects in the structure help in following the data hierarchy of the structures which can be understood by running the javascript programme with variables in the script.
Different forms in JSON
JSON’s property is to be used as a data interchanging language used in different programs like C, C++, JAVA, Perl or Python and many more. JSON builds mainly two structures based on the collection of different characters. One of the collections of names or value pairs are known as the object and the other collection of various ordered lists of values are known as Array. These are universal structures that are virtually used as the programming language to support the various languages related to one another. There are different forms of JSON used in the structures based on the different symbols and characters.
The object is one of the forms with unordered values or name pairs, and this from behind with “{known as a left brace and end with} known as the right brace”. The pairs of values or names are separated by the comma and followed by: colon.
The arrays are the ones with the ordered value pairs or names, the structure begins with “[ left bracket and ends with ] right bracket”. The different values or the numbers in the pairs are separated by the commas, used in the structure.
In the different forms of JSON, the values are known as the strings which are the quotes, numbers, true or false or nulls or the object or the array in a structure. The structures made by the values in JSON are nested and can be used in structure forming in the transmission of data.
The other form of JSON in the structure is the string which is the sequence made by the zero or various Unicode structures wrapped in two quotes generally using the backlashes or the escapes. Every character in the structure represents the different strings, which are usually seen in C or Java.
Difference between JSON and XML
- JSON is JavaScript Object notation whereas XML is an extensible markup language
- JSON is based on javascript language and XML is based on SGML or Standard General Markup Language
- HSON does not provide any support for namespaces but supports arrays, whereas the XML supports namespaces and does not support arrays
- In JSON the files are very easy to read and in XML the documents are very difficult to read as compared to JSON
