United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC)

• December 9, 2003: UNCAC was signed on in Mexico.
• December 14, 2005. came into force.
• International Anti-Corruption Day: December 9th was designated as International Anti-Corruption Day, initiated by the Brazilian delegation during the Convention’s formation.
• Nature of the Convention: UNCAC is the sole legally binding multilateral international treaty focused on anti-corruption.
• India has ratified the UNCAC.
