Recently, Russia pulled out of the Project-75I citing ‘technical reasons’ for the withdrawal.

About Project 75I:

    • The Project 75I-class submarine is a follow-on of the Project 75 Kalvari-class submarines for the Indian Navy.
    • It was approved in 2007 as a part of the Indian Navy’s 30-year Plan for indigenous submarine construction.
    • It envisages for the construction of six advanced diesel-electric submarines.
