Why in news?
The Indian Science, Technology, and Engineering Facilities Map (I-STEM) is launching the Samavesha project at IISc., Bengaluru.
About Project Samavesha:
- Objective: to avoid duplication of resources at the national level and save capital expenditure for industries, startups, and researchers.
- By connecting them with institutions that have the necessary equipment, it makes it possible for industries and researchers to rent it out for studies.
About (I-STEM):
- It is an initiative of the Office of Principal Scientific Advisor, Government of India.
- I-STEM is a National Portal, which assists researchers in locating the specific facilities they need for their R&D work.
- The portal also assists in shortlisting and identifying the facilities based on distance and time of availability.
