About GPAI:
- 2020: Launched
- Comprises 29 member stakeholders.
- Aims to bridge the gap between AI theory and practice by supporting advanced research and applied activities in AI-related areas.
- Built upon a shared commitment to the OECD Recommendation on Artificial Intelligence.
Key Information:
- GPAI Secretariat is with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)
- India’s Role: India is a founding member of GPAI, joining in June 2020.
- In 2024, India assumes the lead chairmanship of GPAI.
- Previous Summits: The first three GPAI summits took place in Montreal, Paris, and Tokyo, respectively.
