Reasons of heavy rainfall in UAE:
- Weather Patterns: The region experienced an extension of an upper air depression combined with a cold air mass and westerly air currents.
- Cloud Seeding: The UAE has actively engaged in cloud seeding programs to enhance rainfall in the region, which is naturally arid and receives very low annual rainfall.
- Geographical Influences: The presence of mountainous regions near the Arabian Sea, like Fujairah or Oman, also plays a role. Humid air masses from the sea meeting low pressure systems over these mountains can enhance rainfall.
- Anthropogenic reasons: Low porosity of concrete Infrastructure, inefficient water drainage system, etc.
