The Board of Peace has submitted its first official report to the United Nations Security Council, urging international pressure on Hamas to disarm to break the deadlock paralyzing the Gaza peace plan.
The Board of Peace (BoP) Core Facts:
Origin and Mandate: Established on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in January 2026 to direct, manage, and oversee the implementation of the comprehensive Gaza peace and reconstruction roadmap.
United Nations Recognition: Formally recognized and empowered under United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2803, which authorizes the board to aid stabilization and recovery operations.
Institutional Structure: Chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump, the organization is divided into an executive diplomatic arm and a dedicated Gaza Executive Board led by a High Representative for Gaza (former UN envoy Nickolay Mladenov).
Funding Mechanism: Operates as a treaty-linked investment club where participating member states (25 out of 62 invited countries have signed the charter) are required to contribute $1 billion to sustain operational membership.
