Minimum Educational Qualification for Indian Forest Service Exam

To apply for the Indian Forest Service Examination, candidates must meet the minimum educational qualification prescribed by UPSC.

A candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree from:

• an institution established by an Act of Parliament, or
• a university recognised as a deemed university by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

UPSC has announced a total of 150 vacancies for the Indian Forest Service Examination 2025. These vacancies also include 9 reserved posts for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) under different categories.

Out of the total vacancies:

• 143 candidates have been recommended for appointment based on merit and eligibility
• 2 vacancies under the PwBD-1 category remain vacant because suitable candidates were not available
• These vacant posts will be carried forward to the next recruitment cycle
• The remaining vacancies are subject to verification and withheld result cases
