She formerly held the position of Director General of the Press Information Bureau. 

She is recognised for spearheading the crucial project of creating a dashboard for government input across multiple media channels and setting up a fact-checking mechanism for the administration. One of the most senior executives of the Indian Information Service, the Director General (News), is in charge of the News Services Division. He is supported by a group of Joint Directors (News), Additional Directors General, Assistant Directors General.

News directors, editors, reporters, etc. The Reporting Unit, Newsreel Unit, General News Room, Hindi News Room, Indian Language Units, Talks & Current Affairs Unit, Reference & Websites unit, and Administrative Wing are among the several operating wings of NSD at its Delhi headquarters. An official with Director, Deputy Director, or Assistant Director is in charge of the Regional News Units in each State. They are supported by News Editors, Reporters, and Newsreaders-cum-Translators.

Additional Appointment

Rajesh Malhotra, the Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) Director General, was promoted to Principal Director General. Malhotra would continue to oversee the finance ministry’s PR initiatives at the PIB.
