Faulty clock questions are part of aptitude. An aptitude is the human mental ability to think critically to solve problems that requires critical and logical thinking. Aptitude also deals with questions related to average, percentage, speed distance and time, probability and more.

What are Faulty Clock Questions?

Faulty clock questions are questions where the candidate is given a situation and he or she has to find out the time. A faulty clock is used as a challenging question in aptitude tests.

A faulty clock consists of a watch with a hand that moves faster than normal. The candidate has to find out what time it actually is by looking at this clock. The hand on the clock may not move evenly but moves faster than usual, hence this question was named as “Faulty Clock”

Benefits of Faulty Clock Logical Reasoning Questions:

1) The Faulty Clock Question is a good question for practising your observation and reading skill.

2) This type of question deals with time and calculation. Our daily routine includes time calculations; hence aptitude questions will be useful in our day-to-day life.

3) The Faulty Clock Question helps us to understand the concept that was used in the question.

4) Faulty clock logical reasoning questions are also called Inference Questions. These are questions which require interpretation of a situation and what is not given in the problem itself. They require us to understand what inference we can make based on the provided information. In some cases, it even requires us to make a judgement.

5) Faulty clock logical reasoning questions help in understanding how we need to use our mind in order to solve a problem. These questions can require you to manage the time, calculate the time and read information.

6) If you are preparing for an interview or doing your next aptitude test then these are the questions that you should be looking forward to because they will test your thinking skills.

7) This type of question tests our ability to observe things and make deductions based on that observation. Developing this skill is one of the ways to prepare ourselves for professional life.

8) Faulty clock logical reasoning questions will also help you in understanding the concept of time and its calculation.

9) Time is a factor that we encounter almost in everything we do. Hence it’s important to have some knowledge in understanding time and its calculation.

Types of Faulty Clock Questions:

There are various types of faulty clock questions based on the situation and what conditions are prevalent.

1) Time is Less Than Normal: If a question is given with the condition that the time shown on the clock is less than normal then you need to take certain things into consideration like, how much faster it’s moving, how much longer is it going to take to reach 12, what time will it show when it reaches 12 etc.

2) Time is Less than Normal and Time is More Than Normal: In this type of situation the candidate should take care of the time. It can be shown that, it will be less than normal or more than the normal time. It will come down to us to find out what time it is and when it reaches this value.

3) Time is More Than a Minute: In this case the candidate needs to ask questions like how long does the hand move for a minute?  How many hands can you make in 1 minute? He must know how many minutes are in a clock if he has to calculate what will be your answer.
