World News via International Forum Discussions

World news, international/ global news or foreign coverage are terms used in the news industry to refer to news from another country or worldwide subjects.

WHAT IS NEWS AND WORLD NEWS?

The word “news” is used to describe information about current events.  It can be conveyed through a variety of modes, such as word of mouth, printing and publishing, postal services, broadcasting, digital communication, and the statements of event witnesses and observers. To distinguish it from soft news, news can sometimes be referred to as “hard news.”

World news, international/ global news or even foreign coverage are terms used in the news industry to refer to news from another country or worldwide subjects. It is a field of journalism that focuses on news delivered by overseas agents or media sources, as well as, relatively recently, data obtained or investigated via distance communication means like using phones, satellite broadcasting, or the internet.

Warfare, governments, politics, education, healthcare, the environment, economy, commerce, fashion, entertainment, and sport, as well as offbeat or unique incidents, are all regular subjects for news coverage.

WORLD NEWS TODAY

The world news today has trending topics of the Ukraine- Russia war and its impact on India and an earthquake that hit Indonesia and the Philippines recently.

EU delegations to India, urging a hard stance on the Ukrainian crisis.

The European Union, which is rapidly becoming one of India’s most important international partners, sent a demarche to India on Friday, sometime before the UN Security Council discussed a resolution condemning Russian military functions in Ukraine. The demarche urged New Delhi to take a firm stance on the issue following the rule of law.

The EU representatives to New Delhi who gathered under the auspices of the EU operation encouraged India to make a strong stance regarding the Russian acts that breach the Rule of Law, territorial security, and jurisdiction. The Ukrainian envoy attended the conference held by the EU.

Powerful earthquakes jolt Indonesia and the Philippines.

A 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck along the west coast of Sumatra Island in Indonesia, while a 6.4-magnitude earthquake hit 110 kilometres along the coast of Luzon Island in the Philippines, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

Jakarta: Recently, powerful and shallower earthquakes jolted western Indonesia and the Philippines’ major island, shaking houses and causing scared residents to run away, although no fatalities or damages were reported.

The earthquake in Indonesia struck at 4:06 a.m. (2109 GMT) at depths of about 21 kilometres, with the epicentre 167 kilometres west of Pariaman, Sumatra.

The offshore earthquake in the Philippines struck at 5:05 a.m. (2105 GMT), jolting inhabitants in the capital Manila awake.

BBC WORLD NEWS

The sky went red after rockets hit the Lviv military camp during the Russia- Ukraine war.

Witnesses who reported a devastating Russian strike on a Ukrainian army camp close to the Polish border described how “the sky turned red” as missiles pounded the location.

Approximately 35 individuals were killed in the attack against the Yavoriv training camp, which is located near one of the main crossing points to Poland for fleeing refugees.

Recently, Russia launched roughly 30 cruise missiles on the facility outside of Lviv, according to the local governor. However, the majority of them were destroyed by their air defence system.

Ambulance services were still racing to the area hours after the incident. Checkpoints were set up on the roads heading to the site, and officials were executing search-and-rescue activities.

The surge of Ukrainian refugees is putting a strain on Poland but it is still a safe place for them.

Karate lessons are being given to the newcomers to Poland. The class occurs in Zamosc, a tiny town in eastern Poland with a population of around 60,000 people. The lovely old town has a UNESCO World Heritage site and is filled with Renaissance churches and colourful buildings, far away from the tragedies taking place beyond the border.

A Polish instructor demonstrates the basic techniques to the 14 students, also ensuring that there is lots of laughter. Making sure that, at the minimum, for that moment, the trauma of the previous two weeks has been replaced with entertainment.

Conclusion

This article covered the topics World News, World News Today and BBC World News. The trending news has been discussed in the above paragraphs.

Even though World News is not generally seen as a specialisation subject for journalists in almost all of the English-speaking countries, in the practical field, it is likely so in every other country. Especially in the news of the United States, there is a muddled difference between international and national, whenever events directly concern their national government or agencies, like conflicts wherein the US is engaged or conferences of international bodies in which the US is a member.
