Rafale, WTO, India-China etc

India and China are two border countries sharing borders in Sikkim, the Northeast and at places in the North India. There has been continuous tension in the India China border.

  •

India and China have always had a sense of tension at their borders ever since the Sino-Indian war . The war was between China and India during the year 1962. It occurred between October – November. It started because of a dispute regarding the Himalayan border. It happened after the Tibetan uprising .

It is from the 1980’s that India and China have regrown their diplomatic and economic relations. India and China have shared their strategies and military relations in recent years. It was in 2008 that China was India’s biggest partner in trade.

However this is not as smooth as it seems as the trade was heavily in China’s favour. This did nothing good about their relations and this resulted in India and China failing to resolve their dispute regarding borders of each country. The India China news has always shown reports of Chinese military’s insertions into India. Another reason for the worry is China’s relations with India’s rivals.

The 2020-2022 India China skirmishes.

Reports of India China border and the troops there to be a part of an aggressive melee, face-offs and skirmishes at many places in the India China border, such as Pangong lake, ladakh. Secondly, sino-indian border, Line of Actual Control (LAC) and Sikkim’s border. This began on 5th May, 2020.

This resulted in a death of 20 Indian soldiers. Along with this few soldiers were even reported to be captured by both sides and both sides rejected these claims. After a long period of 45 years shots were fired at the LAC . India and China blamed each other for the reported firing , but the Indian media said that the firing was done as a sign of warning the Chinese troops on 7th September.

Indian Army and the Chinese troops both were on a standoff when India was constructing some infrastructure beside the Sino- Indian border . The infrastructure was the Darbuk-Shyok-DBO Road project in Ladakh. Although China had no reason to take the standoff as even they had developed some infrastructure in the disputed areas.

Even after such clashes in the India China border both the countries have said that bilateral mechanisms are still present to resolve all the situations.

Rafale

The India China news had its eye set on Rafale when India purchased them from France amid the border tension with China.

The full name is Dassault Rafale. It is a fighter aircraft which has a French twin engine along with canard Delta wings and is specially made for performing multiple roles as a fighter aircraft. The company which made the aircraft is Dassault Aviation.

Rafale is heavily loaded with various weapons and is used for the following purposes:-

  • Aerial Supremacy
  • Interdiction
  • Aerial reconnaissance
  • Ground support
  • In-depth attacking aerial strike.
  • Anti-ship strike
  • Nuclear deterrence projects.

Rafale is currently being used by the French Air and Space Force , Indian Air Force, French Force and Qatar Emiri Air Force.

There are more than 12 variants of Rafale and Indian Air Forces bought the EH and DH variants from France. India had ordered 36 Rafale aircrafts out of which 35 have already been delivered. 28 single seats and 8 dual seats were ordered by the Indian Air force. These aircrafts are currently at the Ambala Air Craft Station and the Hasimara Air Craft Station.

WTO

The full form of WTO is the World Trade Organization. It is an organization whose duty is to maintain international trade between countries by frequently regulating and facilitating them. Since it is an intergovernmental agency/organization it can create and change the rules for international trade throughout the world. It was officially performing its functions from the very first day of the year 1995 .

China and India have been having conflicts and In 2021 India had banned many Chinese apps for violating the privacy policies of the country and later this decision was taken to the WTO by China because they used to gather a lot of revenue from the Indian users.

Conclusion

The relationship between India and China has always been up to something it’s ever-changing . Both the countries claim to have the measures to mend their relationship may it by trade or by politics. Moreover the India China news has something or the other regarding the countries like India China border issues, India purchasing rafale or India banning some Chinese apps. Both the countries should sit and resolve their issues if they have the means to do so.

When Chinese infantry reached there and asked the Indians to stop fencing the area. The Indians refused by saying they had order and an argument suddenly turned into a scuffle before getting separated. Later the Chinese started firing on the Indians . Lack of cover resulted in many soldiers’ deaths and then both the countries brought in artillery and finally after 5 days of firing Indians overcame the Chinese and then the bodies of the departed soldiers were exchanged.
