CLAT UG Eligibility Criteria
If you are preparing for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) Undergraduate (UG) 2022, it is important for you to know the eligibility criteria for the examination.
The eligibility criteria for the CLAT UG 2022 are as follows.
Age Criteria
There is no upper age limit for applying for the CLAT UG 2022 examination.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have obtained the following minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 or an equivalent examination:
- If the candidate belongs to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories, they need to have scored at least 45 percent marks.
- If the candidate is from SC/ ST categories, they need to have secured at least 40 percent marks.
- Candidates writing the qualifying exam in March/April 2022 are also eligible to apply for the CLAT UG 2022 exam.
- Applicants will, nonetheless, be asked to submit proof of passing the qualifying test at the time of admission, failing which they would lose their right to secure admission.
- The result of the qualifying 10 + 2 examination must be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission, failing which the candidate will be deemed ineligible for admission to the course.
Note: In the event of a tie of equal marks among candidates, the following process will be used to break the tie-
- Higher marks in the section on legal aptitude in the UG CLAT 2022
- Higher age
- Computerized draw of lots
