CDS Result Announcement
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) prepares a list of the candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in the written examination. The shortlisted candidates qualify for the intelligence and personality tests conducted at the Service Selection Board based on their preference by the respective service HQ. The declaration of the written test result is likely to be made in the month of May 2022.
Candidates who qualify in the written test conducted by the commission and choose Army (IMA/OTA) as their first preference need to register themselves on the website of the Recruiting Directorate to receive call up information for SSB interview. Candidates who already registered need not register themselves again. Results of the test conducted by SSB will hold good for all the other courses [i.e. Indian Military Academy (DE) Course, Dehradun, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala Course, Air Force Academy (Pre-Flying) Course, Hyderabad and SSC (NT) Course at OTA, Chennai] for which the candidate has qualified the written test, irrespective of the service HQ, which is conducting the exam. SSB conducts Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test. Candidates need to qualify Stage 1 exam to proceed to the 2nd or remaining stages.
A merit list of shortlisted candidates is prepared based on the marks secured in the written test and SSB interview. Candidates who qualify in the second stage of the selection procedure must submit the photocopy of the below-listed documents:
- Matriculation certificate or other documents that support the date of the birth of the applicant
- Documents of the bachelor’s degree or provisional documents such as mark sheets of all the semesters or years to support the educational requirements of the candidate
Candidates need to appear before SSB and undergo the test at their risk. They will not be entitled to claim any compensation or relief from the Government in case of an injury which they may sustain during the test, whether due to negligence or any other reason.
Candidates will be selected by the authorities based on marks secured in the SSB interview and written examination, and a merit list will be prepared. The mode of the communication of the result of the examination to an individual will be decided by the Commission at their discretion.
Applicants should note that on the qualifying examination their admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy or the Officer’s Training Academy is not confirmed. The final selection to the defence branches will be made based on medical and physical fitness. Additionally, the candidates will be selected based on other mentioned areas and vacancies available.
Candidates for Air Force and Naval Aviation can appear in the Pilot Aptitude Test only once. The grades secured in the first Computer Pilot Selection System (CPSS) and/or Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) will be considered for every subsequent interview that a candidate appears in at the Air Force Selection Board. Candidates who failed the Indian Navy Selection Board/CPSS and/or Pilot Aptitude Battery Test earlier or those who wear spectacles habitually are not eligible for Air Force.
Candidates who have applied for Air Force through more than one source i.e. – CDSE/NCC/Airmen will be interviewed/tested only once at the Air Force Selection Boards.
Candidates who will fail in the Pilot Aptitude Battery Tests as the airmen of NCC or Airmen candidate or Computer Pilot Selection System will be called again for the OLQ testing for the OTS/Navy/Army if they have appeared or applied through the CDS examination. Applicants who qualified for the written examination for the IMA [DE] course, Navy [SE] course or the Air Force Academy course irrespective of their selection in the SSC course will be called for the detailed SSB test in August – September 2022. Additionally, the candidates who are successful in qualifying for the SSC course will be called for the SSB tests conducted from October to December 2022.
