What is the Concept of Self and Personality Class 12 Notes?

After reading about self and personality class 12 notes, we have come across self and personality traits. Self is part of an individual’s personality. They both meet and form an individual outlook and existence. It refers to our existence, experiences, expertise, and behaviour in the social world. 

Every person holds a unique personality and place in life. The capacity to make decisions and the potential to respond to the solution and reaction towards the situation at different times has been surprising.

However, if a person wants, they can change their personality according to their demands. The main traits will remain the same in the person and be showcased from time to time. The personality and self-thinking change over time with a changing environment, but behaviours are always welcoming.

Explain the Five-factor Model of Personality

The debate over personality factors is discovering new terms every day, and the closure didn’t seem near. The psychological researchers have been studying and came up with the top five personality factors by studying the number of traits.

The top five factors of personality are as follows:

  • Being open to Experiences

Those who explore with their personality and score high are open to challenges and experiments. People with low scores are not open to experiments.

  • Extraversion

Super active, sportive nature, adventurous and funny is called extraversion of personality. They perform every activity with 100% energy. People with low energy have stiff personalities.

  • Agreeableness

People who are ready to offer help, co-operate, and have a friendly nature are the main features of personality. On the other side, several individuals are introverts and centred on themselves.

  • Conscientiousness

People who score high are goal-oriented, controlled, hard-working, active, and accountable for actions. On the other hand, people who score low are spontaneous.

  • Neuroticism

People who score high are emotionally unstable and easily breakdown, while people on the other side are stable and bold.
