Off-the-job training refers to an organisation’s development activity that takes place outside of the workplace. Employees can be trained using a variety of off-the-job training methods. Special lectures: This is also known as classroom training, and it provides employees lectures about the job requirements and the abilities needed to complete the job. There is usually a classroom or a workshop where professionals or specialists from professional institutes impart entire job knowledge to the workforce. The major goal of this training is to educate employees about their job responsibilities and allow them to discuss any questions they may have after listening to the lectures.
Simulation: In this type of training, the trainee is expected to learn how to operate machines and equipment that are reasonably constructed to resemble those found on the actual work floor.
Role-playing: In the case of customer service, this form of training is critical. The trainees take on the roles of the characters and act out the scenarios. It’s also known as socio-drama or psycho-drama, and it involves employees acting as if they’re in a predicament and must handle it on their own without any help.
Management Games: In this strategy, trainees are separated into groups and then given a simulated marketplace or situations in which they must use their knowledge and solve problems promptly.
