What are the Changes made in CBSE Class 10 Board Exam Pattern 2024?

The board intends to implement Competency Focused Education, with more competency-based questions to assess students’ application of concepts in real-life situations. The question paper in year-end board examinations will have an increased number of application based questions in the form of MCQs, Case Based Questions, Source-based Integrated Questions or any other format.

  • Select response type questions(MCQ) = 20%

Some of the major points to consider while preparing the competency based questions include:
  • Solve question banks, previous year papers and sample papers.

  • Read the given statements or paragraph at least twice to clearly understand the situation.

CBSE 10th Exam Pattern 2024: Key Points

  • Since CBSE has revised the class 10 exam pattern this year, students must develop a clear understanding of the current CBSE 10th exam pattern 2024 and then prepare for the exams accordingly:
  • The CBSE exam for each subject will be of 100 marks where the theory paper will carry 80 marks and the internal assessments will be of 20 marks
  • Students must note that they need to score a minimum of 33% in every subject and overall, in order to qualify the CBSE board exams 2024
  • There are a total of 5 compulsory subjects that students have to appear for in the CBSE 10th board exams 2024, these include Mathematics, English, Science, Social Science and Hindi
  • Students are required to cover the entire syllabus of Class 10 for their respective subjects for the CBSE board examination 2024

CBSE board exams 2024 will be conducted in the offline mode and the duration of each exam will be 3 hours.
