Solve Critical Path Problems

In this article, we will obtain a grasp of the critical path, one of the most important components of the reasoning section. Using this method, problems can be resolved by first defining the steps required to complete the task.

Exams for some MBA admissions require students to demonstrate their ability to think logically, analyze data, and make inferences from it. This is an example of the kind of question that might be posted on a test. Candidates’ critical thinking and decision-making abilities will be assessed in the data interpretation and logical reasoning sections. Analytical, logical, and mathematical abilities are all put to the test while dealing with such problems. Routes and networks are a primary concern for this LRDI CAT component. Several MBA entry tests, such as the CAT, ATMA, SNAP, and XAT, take into account the critical route concept. In order to grasp this concept, one must have a thorough understanding of networks and relationship issues. As a result, it requires a thorough comprehension of the subject matter, as well as the necessary connections to break it down into its smallest possible components and answer the question.

What is the purpose of the critical path?

As a project management technique, critical path analysis is one that identifies all of the steps necessary to complete a task and the time required for each step, and the relationships between them. An approach is known as the “critical path approach” uses critical path analysis to predict whether a project will be completed on time and to reorganize the project both before and during execution so that it remains on course and that deliverables are delivered as promised. It is important to explain each step- in detail, including the sequence in which it must be completed and the time it is expected to take, before drawing a diagram of the process.

The Critical Path Concept addresses the following topics: –

In most cases, the network is supplied between two cities, although the path is complex.

the amount of product that may flow from one area to another via another channel, such as pipes, must be determined by the aspirant, the critical path is comprised of separate pathways or

a few more bare-bones CAT necessities How long does it take for a person to get to an endpoint using speed estimates? How long does it take for someone to get the shortest route?

Break down the network into as many components as possible to address these questions.

An operation can be performed in x b ways if it has two parts (a and b) that can be performed in distinct ways.

If one tool can execute an action in a certain way, another tool can do it in a different way b, and yet another tool can do it in a different way c, the entire operation can be accomplished in (a + b + c) different ways.

If you’re worried about product flow, knowing the slack concept could be helpful.

Advantages

Critical Path Analysis (CPA) is a planning tool that aids in the development and testing of a plan. The tasks that must be completed on time in order for the project to be completed on time are identified using Critical Path Analysis.

Limitations

Other planning tools, such as Gantt Charts, show the relationship between tasks and time, but CPA does not. It is possible that this may make it more difficult for employees to understand corporate plans and communications.

WHAT IS THE KEY TO FINDING THE KEY PATH?

The procedures listed below can be used to identify a critical path on any project or set of circumstances;

1. A network diagram is the first step.

2. Calculate the Time Required to Complete the Project.

3.  Pass forward and backward (not always necessary!)

4. The float calculation is now complete.

5. This is the final step: zero float activities are used to mark the critical path.

Conclusion

Some MBA admissions exams test candidates’ critical thinking and decision-making ability. The critical path is taken into account by several MBA admissions examinations, including the CAT, ATMA, SNAP, and the XAT. In-depth knowledge of networks and interpersonal relationships is required to grasp this idea. Critical Path Analysis identifies the tasks that must be accomplished on time for the project to be completed on time. Unlike Gantt Charts, CPA does not display the relationship between tasks and time. Product flow concerns may benefit from an understanding of the slack notion.

Ans.

  1. Small project only
  2. Large project
  3. Both small and large projects equally
  4. Neither small nor large project

Solution- Critical path is an effective strategy for large projects only.

Ans.

  1. Zero slack
  2. Maximum slack
  3. Minimum slack
  4. Negative slack

Solution – activities falling on the critical path have zero slack.

Ans.

  1. The critical path with the longest time sequence is the critical path.
  2. for each activity earliest start time and the latest start time are computed.
  3. the length of the critical path determines the minimum time in which the entire project can be completed.
  4. the path with the shortest time sequence is the critical path.

Solution – the path with the shortest time sequence is the critical path.

What is Posterior Probability

A posterior probability, in Bayesian records, is the revised or updated probability of an event happening after taking into account new records. The posterior probability is calculated by updating the prior probability by using Bayes’ theorem. In statistical phrases, the posterior probability is the probability of event A taking place given that event B has taken place.
