CAIIB is conducted by the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF). The CAIIB seeks to provide advanced knowledge in economic analysis, international banking, risk management, balance sheet management, and Treasury Management to help people make better decisions. What is CAIIB Exam?
The acronym CAIIB stands for Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. The Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) conducts these tests twice a year. The 1928-founded IIFB has absorbed 700 banks and financial institutions.
One of the unique examinations designed by the IIBF to acquire the greatest performance out of the officials who are now employees of the Indian foundation of Banking and Finance. This CAIIB Exam aims to evaluate the approaches for creating a flexible and all-encompassing financial administration.
There are two compulsory papers and one optional paper in the exam.

CAIIB Exam Pattern
So now we have seen how the present test syllabus looks, let’s look at the changes that will be implemented starting in 2023. There will be four compulsory papers for CAIIB Exam.

One has to choose 1 out of 5 of the following electives:
- Risk Management
- Information Technology and Digital Banking
- Central Banking
- Human Resource Management

Other important details about the next CAIIB Exam:
- There will be 100 questions on each paper.
- Each paper has a total score of 100.
- The examination has a 120-minute time restriction.
The following is the scoring system:
- Each incorrect response will result in one fourth of a mark being deducted.
- Each subject requires a minimum score of 45 out of 100 to pass. Applicants who get a minimum of 45 in each paper and a cumulative 50% in each subject on one try will also be considered qualified.
CAIIB Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who want to apply for the test must meet the requirements for eligibility. In addition, the following requirements for applicants are listed below.
- The applicants must have passed the JAIIB exam.
- One must be employed with a bank/financial institution.
Number of Attempts
- Candidates must pass the test within two years of applying (i.e. four consecutive attempts).
- Beginning on the date of the first application, the 2-year deadline will apply.
- Applicants must re-enrol if they cannot pass the test in the allotted two years. Such applicants will not be given credit for any prior given subjects, if any.
