Expertise in a similar field plays a crucial role in measuring the complete success an individual accomplishes in the end. Daniel Goleman Emotional Intelligence

According to Daniel Goleman a psychologist and author of emotional intelligence, there are five main elements to emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social skill, empathy, and motivation. He documented all the information regarding emotional intelligence in the Emotional Intelligence book.

Self Awareness

This element is a fundamental understanding of an individual’s personality, referring to one of the core qualities that disclose the capability of the individual to establish a potential self-reflection and control self. It further engages self-observation of the different functions bearing out. A self-reflective person can easily take appropriate decisions at the right time, during a crucial time. A person who can understand their feelings can make choices of their own. And further, the individual begins self-assessment in their executing tasks. Ultimately the individual becomes confident and nothing can stop them in the mid-journey. It also supports them in making decisions and accessing different opinions. 

Self Management

Self Management is about the way a person controls emotions. It allows people to monitor their thoughts, ideas and feelings in any situation. When a person feels distressing and annoying, some of them are somewhat capable of strengthening their nerves and remaining the same, according to the case. They also stay focused and inspired. The capability to stand tranquil, self-motivated, showing flexibility is associated with internal Self – Management.

Social Skills

Social skills are mainly referred to as relationship management and building a social network. It further helps individuals interact and communicate with the inner and outer world. On the other hand, social skills are instead personality traits essential to being a remarkable leader. A person with potential social skills is always spreading motivation for the rest. The individual also has the power to motivate their team in no time.

Empathy

Empathy helps an individual better understand how other people think and feel. It is a tremendous skill to understand better; often, one should get into others’ shoes. It builds an individual to be aware of someone’s emotions and perform accordingly. Empathy is further a critical skill needed to be a leader.

Motivation

Motivation is the eagerness of an individual to accomplish something. It rides an individual to the objectives and preys indirectly. It interprets what one expects and eventually emphasises achieving the goal. Motivation produced externally from others may remain minimal, but internal and self-motivation compels an individual to be more enthusiastic about the job and responsibilities.

The primary purpose of adopting emotional intelligence is more than to develop health and well-being and the objectives of helping people succeed in every perspective.
