National Standard Examination in Biology
NSEB is the first stage of the selection process for students in the Biology Olympiad Program, organized by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). Every student aspiring to progress through successive stages of the program must enroll for NSEB. NSEB will be held at numerous centers across the country.

Indian National Junior Biology Olympiad
Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) organises the INO for Biology and other science streams. The syllabus is the same for INBO and NSEB. It is held in January last week or February first week every year.

The Indian National Biology Olympiad (INBO) is a prestigious competition designed for students in classes 11 and 12. It serves as the second stage of the Homi Bhabha Centre For Science Education’s Biology Olympiad Program (HBCSE). Held at over 15 locations across India, the INBO attracts a significant number of students each year. Here are some key points about the INBO:

• To participate in the INBO, students must first pass the National Standard Examination in Biology (NSEB).
• The INBO is specifically for students in grades 11 and 12.
• It covers the CBSE biology curriculum.

Orientation Cum Selection Camp
35 students from the Indian National Olympiad in Biology went for the orientation cum selection camp. HBCSE organises the camp, and several observational/experimental tests are conducted for students to work on their skills.
Emphasis is laid on developing conceptual foundations and problem-solving skills.
Students are exposed to innovative experiments with focus on conceptual and procedural understanding in experimental science.

Pre-departure Training
The pre-departure training camp is to train students in specialised and planned classes developed by HBCSE.
Thorough training on experimental and theoretical concepts of Biology is given to the students to prepare for the International Biology Olympiad (IBO).

International Biology Olympiad
It is the final stage of the Olympiad and programme culminates with the participation of 4-6 Indian students at the International level. The students are accompanied by 2-4 teachers or mentors.
