Terms Governing Refund of Security Deposit for Subscriptions to Unacademy Offline UG Centres

  • These terms (“Terms”) provide the terms and conditions by which security deposit paid (“Security Deposit”) by a Learner upon purchase of select Subscriptions in the goal/category Unacademy UG Offline Centres shall be refunded to such Learner.
  • These Terms should be read along with the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, and any other policies made available on the Platform or at the time of securing a Subscription (“Platform Terms”). Any term not specifically defined herein shall have the meaning ascribed to it in the Platform Terms.
  • The Security Deposit is mandatory to complete the purchase of the Subscription and it shall be over and above the Subscription Fee payable to purchase the Subscription.
  • The Security Deposit paid at the time of purchase of the Subscription shall be refunded to the Learner once the results for the competitive exam (“Exam(s)”), the Subscription helps to prepare for, is released, subject to the following terms (“Criteria”):
    1. Learner has cleared all dues related to Subscription Fee and no dues are pending.
    2. No damage to any property at the Unacademy Centre where the Learner is enrolled.
    3. Upon being contacted by Unacademy before or after the Exam(s), the Learner shall share the details pertinent to the Exam including but not limited to application number, results, any other details required by Unacademy to verify the results obtained by the Learners, within the timeline and manner communicated by Unacademy. Illustratively this shall include- For JEE; JEE Main and Advanced Application Numbers and Results; for NEET; NEET Application Number and Result, For Foundation Courses- Application Number and Results.
  • Process for obtaining the refund of the Security Deposit- The Learner shall contact the respective Academic Operations/Counsellor/ Centre Head through the registered Email ID of the Subscriber used through which the admission was taken within 60 days of the final results of the Exam being declared (“Refund Window”) to avail the refund of the Security Deposit.
  • The email from the Learner must contain Subscription details as well as provide bank account details to process the refund of the Security Deposit.
  • Upon verification of the above details, and provided the Learner has complied with the above, the Security Deposit shall be fully refunded.
  • In case there are any difficulties or errors in processing the payment to the account details provided by the Learner over email, the Learner may be requested to share details of an alternate bank account with requisite documents such as cancelled cheque pertaining to the relevant bank account for verification purpose.
  • In the event the Learner doesn’t comply with any with the Criteria as set out above, or does not contact Unacademy within the Refund Window, or provide additional details required by Unacademy to process the refund within the stipulated timeline, Learner shall be deemed to have forfeited their claim to refund of the Security Deposit.
  • Unacademy reserves the right to make any changes to the Terms at its discretion. In the event there are any changes, the Learners shall be notified of the same. It shall be the responsibility of the Learners to check the updated Terms on the Platform upon being notified.
