The Renaissance is considered to be the beginning of modern European history and as a movement that affected all walks of human life, it had important implications in the way that art, science, literature and philosophies would be shaped. It focussed on expressing man as an individual being, free to pursue his artistic expressions and develop an independent identity. The Renaissance was the spring board that shaped many events of modern Europe.
